The model, which was developed under the name “Scudino”, that is, small Scudo, during the first project process, was named Doblo when it went into mass production. After the first generation, the model underwent a comprehensive facelift in 2005. Doblo, which was completely renewed in 2010, continued with its third generation. In 2015, it was facelifted and put on sale with its fourth generation. Doblo also took an important place in Tofaş’s R&D activities.

As part of the electric vehicle development studies carried out at the factory in Bursa, the electric Fiat Doblo Cargo hit the roads in 2019. An electric motor producing 111 HP power and 220 Nm torque was used in the model. The 30 kWs capacity battery provided a driving range of up to 210 km. Fiat Doblo reached more than 600 thousand sales in the Turkish market in 26 years. Over the years, the model was offered in different body types such as Cargo, Combi, Panorama and Pratico.

Long chassis, high roof and 7-seat versions were also included in the product family. Special versions such as Malibu, VIP, Carioca and Trekking were also put on sale, especially for commercial users and SMEs. The “Doblo 20th Anniversary” series, developed only for Turkey specifically for Doblo’s 20th anniversary, was also launched in limited production. Only 2,020 units of this special series were produced. Doblo’s return to Bursa is based on the strategic production agreement signed between Tofaş and Stellantis in September 2025.

Within the scope of the agreement, the production and distribution rights of K9-coded light commercial vehicles and Combi versions developed for Fiat, Opel, Citroen and Peugeot brands were given to Tofaş. An investment of up to 256 million euros is envisaged within the scope of the project. Production is planned to start in the third quarter of 2026 and reach an annual capacity of 150 thousand units. Tofaş will also be responsible for the production of 1-ton light commercial vehicles coded K0 developed by Stellantis for Fiat, Opel, Citroen and Peugeot brands.

Some of these vehicles will be exported to the North American market under the name Ram ProMaster City from the second half of 2027. Approximately 1 million units of K0 coded vehicles are planned to be produced by 2032. It is anticipated that 230 thousand units of this production will be sent to the US market. The annual production capacity of Tofaş’s Bursa factory is approximately 400 thousand units. As the production of the Egea family approaches its end, the importance of light commercial vehicles in the factory’s production plan is increasing.

K9 and K0 projects will create a new production volume in the factory. The official calendar regarding how the capacity area of approximately 175 thousand units will be utilized after Egea’s withdrawal from production has not been announced. Fiat Brand Director Altan Aytaç had previously announced that they were working on two new C segment models that will replace Egea. It was stated that one of these models would be a fastback and the other would be an SUV body type.

These new generation SUV and coupe-SUV models were later introduced under the name Grizzly. The production address of these vehicles has been announced as Morocco for now. It was stated that Turkey will be one of the first markets where these models will be offered for sale.
