DRAM chips produced by Chinese ChangXin Memory Technologies, namely CXMT, were displayed in Corsair’s Vengeance DDR5 memory module. The 16 GB DDR5-6000 module purchased in China was one of the most striking examples showing that major brands turned to alternative chip sources during the supply congestion in the memory market. CXMT chips were seen in the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 module. In the CPU-Z screenshots shared on X, ChangXin Memory Technologies appears as the DRAM manufacturer of the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 module.
The module in question has a capacity of 16 GB and operates at DDR5-6000 speed. On the product label, the timing values are 36-44-44-96 and the operating voltage is 1.35V. It is also shared that the module, whose part number is listed as “CMK5X16G3E60C36A2-CN”, supports Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles. One of the most important details here is the CN phrase at the end of the part number. This phrase suggests that the module may be a product prepared for the Chinese market or a trial production.
There is no official statement from Corsair that DDR5 memories with CXMT chips are offered to the global market. CXMT DDR5 DRAM Die Appears in Corsair Memory pic.twitter.com/GRLeAUHtEN— Алексей (@wxnod) May 22, 2026 Corsair typically uses chips sourced from major DRAM manufacturers like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron in its consumer-grade DDR5 memory kits. For this reason, the presence of CXMT signed DRAM in a Vengeance series module is not just a technical detail; It also makes the new direction in the memory supply chain visible.
The demand for artificial intelligence servers has an important place behind the recent pressure in the memory market. According to IDC’s assessment, major memory manufacturers are allocating more resources to the production of HBM and high-capacity DDR5 used in artificial intelligence data centers instead of traditional DRAM and NAND used in smartphones, PCs and other consumer electronics products. This situation narrows the supply of general-purpose memory modules and puts pressure on prices.
CXMT is one of the most important manufacturers of memory in China. The company’s official product page states that DDR5 chips have speeds of up to 8000 Mbps and membrane capacities of 16 GB and 24 GB. CXMT is also positioning its DDR5 modules for different use cases such as servers, workstations, desktops and laptops. This Corsair module is not the first time CXMT DDR5 has been seen in retail products. However, the point that makes a difference here is the emergence of Chinese DRAM chips in the Vengeance series of a globally known memory brand such as Corsair.
According to VideoCardz, CXMT-based KingBank DDR5-6000 CL36 kits were also on the agenda before. It is noteworthy that CE and UKCA markings also appear on the shared module. However, the available information does not provide definitive data that the product will be sold in the European or global market. Without an official statement from Corsair, it is not clear in which regions the Vengeance DDR5 kits with CXMT chips will be sold.
The increase in memory prices has made DDR5 kits more costly, especially for users building new systems. Chinese manufacturers becoming more visible on the DDR5 side may mean additional supply channels for RAM manufacturers. However, it is not yet clear how much and when this will be reflected in end-user prices.
