Idle school buildings in Sinop are turning into village life centers

SİNOP (AA) – In Sinop, idle old school buildings are being transformed into village life centers after maintenance and repairs. Within the scope of the Village Life Centers Project carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 6 old school buildings in Sinop have been offered to the service of citizens as village life centers after their maintenance and repairs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the village life center, whose transformation was completed and put at the service of citizens in Yalı village of the central district, Governor Mustafa Özarslan said that they continue to carry out good works in increasing the living standards of citizens living in rural areas. Explaining that there was movement from villages to cities in the past, but now the movement towards villages has started again, Özarslan stated that they have transformed 6 idle buildings in the city so far and put them into service for the citizens within the framework of the Village Life Centers Project.

Stating that this number will reach 19 with the completion of the ongoing buildings, Özarslan said, “We see that these small construction activities are spreading in waves in our city. Now our village headmen take individual initiative. By finding philanthropists, sponsors and cooperating, they open village settlements and village life centers at a speed that we cannot keep up with. This shows that the foundation of our people is strong and the culture of collaboration continues.
