Samsung announced that the new Odyssey, Odyssey OLED, ViewFinity and The Movingstyle Essential models will be available globally within the scope of the 2026 monitor series. The most notable model of the series was the 32-inch Odyssey G8, which the company positioned as the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor. The new product family includes high-resolution IPS and OLED options for gamers, ViewFinity S8 models for professionals, and The Movingstyle Essential, which can be carried around the room with its movable stand.
6K Odyssey G8 stands out in Samsung’s 2026 monitor family. Samsung’s new Odyssey series comes with two different models. The 32-inch Odyssey G8 is listed with the model code G80HS and offers 6K resolution. The monitor, which uses an IPS panel, has a pixel density of 224 PPI. The device has a 165Hz refresh rate at 6K resolution. When Dual Mode is used, the resolution decreases to 3K and the refresh rate increases to 330Hz.
This structure allows switching between high-resolution images and gaming scenarios that require higher speed. The second model of the Odyssey G8 series comes in 27 inches. The monitor with model code G80HF is offered with 5K resolution, 218 PPI pixel density and IPS panel. This model reaches 180Hz refresh rate at 5K resolution. When Dual Mode is activated, 360Hz refresh rate can be used at QHD resolution. Thus, Samsung is releasing two different options under the same Odyssey G8 series, focusing on both high pixel density and high refresh rate for competitive games.
Both Odyssey G8 models include DisplayPort 2.1 connection. Samsung states that this connection offers high bandwidth for new generation visuals. The monitors also support AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible. Additionally, the Odyssey series includes the HDR10 GAMING feature. This feature optimizes brightness and contrast in real time; However, according to Samsung’s footnote, compatibility varies depending on the PC hardware used, cable standard and supported games.
Samsung is also expanding its product family on the Odyssey OLED side. The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 comes with model code G73SH. Offering a 165Hz refresh rate in 4K resolution, the monitor reaches 330Hz in FHD resolution with Dual Mode. The model has a response time of 0.03ms. This product is added to the series as one of the new options that brings Samsung’s OLED gaming monitors to a wider user base. Odyssey OLED G8 comes in 27 inch and 32 inch size options.
The monitor with model code G80SH offers an OLED panel, 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. Samsung’s Glare Free technology is used to reduce reflections without compromising OLED image quality. The monitor also has a USB-C connection that supports power transfer up to 98W. Additionally, Odyssey OLED G8 uses QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology. Samsung states that this technology brings improvements in efficiency, durability and brightness.
The Odyssey OLED G8 model also includes DisplayPort 2.1 support. According to Samsung’s technical note, the G80SH offers up to 80Gbps bandwidth with DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20. The monitor also has AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and HDR10 GAMING support. The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 model also has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The ViewFinity S8 series focuses on professional workflows rather than gamers.
The 40-inch ViewFinity S8 comes with model code S85TH and uses a curved WUHD display. The monitor offers a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. With Thunderbolt 5 support, 80Gbps data transfer and up to 140W charging support is provided for compatible devices. The Easy Connection feature is also added to the series for faster data transfer and connection between devices. The 27-inch ViewFinity S8 comes with the model code S80HF.
This model is listed with 5K resolution and USB-C connection support. Data transfer and device charging are provided via USB-C connection. Samsung positions this model as a more accessible ViewFinity option with 5K resolution. Ergonomic design is also among the highlighted features of the series for long-term professional use. The Movingstyle Essential comes as a special model to Samsung.com. The 43-inch screen is offered with a height-adjustable wheeled stand.
The stand supports pivot, left-right rotation and tilt movements. The model has 4K UHD resolution. Thanks to built-in Smart TV applications and Samsung Gaming Hub support, the device focuses not only on desktop use, but also on entertainment, gaming and work scenarios that can be carried to different rooms within the home. Samsung’s footnote states that the Gaming Hub requires a high-speed internet connection, additional game service subscriptions and a compatible controller.
Samsung announced that the new Odyssey, Odyssey OLED, ViewFinity and The Movingstyle Essential monitors will be on sale shortly. Prices will start at $899.99. The company will offer a $50 discount valid for the early order period between May 26 and June 9 to users who make reservations between May 5 at 10 a.m. EDT and May 26 at 9:59 a.m. EDT in the United States. Samsung also states that selected early order incentives will be activated during the sales period.
