Operators state that some customers occupy the tables for a long time by purchasing a single coffee, and therefore they lose income. WI-FI TIME IS 90 MINUTES Emphasizing that the increase in rent, personnel and energy expenses increases operating costs, cafe owners state that although the places seem full, many customers sit for hours ordering only one coffee, which negatively affects profitability.
For this reason, businesses are preparing to implement new applications. According to the news of Türkiye Newspaper, many businesses will introduce time-limited Wi-Fi application and socket restrictions in order to prevent customers from sitting for hours with a single coffee. Accordingly, Wi-Fi passwords given to customers will be limited to 90 minutes and the internet connection will be automatically disconnected when the time expires.
ORDERING CONDITION EVERY 2 HOURS In addition, businesses state that customers using sockets for a long time increases electricity costs and are planning to disable the sockets under the tables in order to reduce energy consumption. Instead, controlled charging stations that can be used for a certain fee will be established. On the other hand, new measures are also on the agenda for customers who sit for hours with just a coffee.
Some cafes will request additional orders from customers who stay over a certain period of time. It has even been learned that some businesses will make it mandatory to place a new order every 2 hours, and customers who do not comply with this rule will be asked to vacate the tables.
