TikTok launched its new paid subscription model in the UK, offering an ad-free experience to its users. Within the scope of the new option offered by the platform, subscribers will be able to use the application without seeing ads. In the subscription package offered for a monthly fee of £ 3.99, it was also shared that user data will not be evaluated in advertising analysis processes. Ads will continue to be displayed in accounts using the standard free version.
In addition, free users’ data will continue to be used in advertising-oriented analysis studies. It is stated that the new application was implemented following the data privacy regulations that came into force in the UK. These regulations include new restrictions on social media companies’ unauthorized collection of user data. Similar steps had been taken by Meta before. Ad-free subscription options began to be offered in certain regions on Facebook and Instagram platforms.
Platforms such as X and YouTube provide additional features as well as ad-free use within the scope of paid membership systems. The new system launched by TikTok in the UK is expected to be available in other countries in the future.
