Meteksan Defense aims to take domestic and national engineering capabilities in the field of underwater systems to a new level by exhibiting the National Synthetic Aperture Sonar (MİLSAS), which allows high resolution imaging of the seabed and underwater targets, at SAHA 2026. SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair is being held at Istanbul Expo Center with the organization of Turkey’s and Europe’s largest defense, aviation and space industry cluster, SAHA Istanbul.
Exhibiting MİLSAS within the scope of the fair, where Anadolu Agency (AA) is the Global Communication Partner, Meteksan Defense offers solutions for the needs of friendly and allied countries as well as Turkey, with the technologies it has developed, from radar and electronic warfare solutions to sonar systems, from platform subsystems to training simulators. The company, which stands out with its systems developed in accordance with NATO standards and actively used in the field, implements its projects on time and reliably, thanks to its strong production infrastructure and high production capacity.
Developing sustainable solutions with a local and national engineering approach, Meteksan Defense continues to contribute to the defense industry ecosystem with its wide supplier network. MİLSAS exceeds the resolution limits of traditional sonar systems. Developed in this context, MİLSAS stands out as an advanced synthetic aperture sonar system for high resolution detection of seabed and underwater targets. The system creates a synthetic wide aperture by coherently combining multiple narrow-aperture sonar measurements acquired throughout platform movement.
Thus, while the resolution limits of traditional sonar systems are exceeded, underwater targets can be viewed at a high level of detail. Producing sharp and clear images by processing high-frequency acoustic signals, MİLSAS provides reliable data in many different tasks such as mine detection, seabed mapping, critical infrastructure inspection, energy exploration activities and change detection, thanks to its wide coverage area and superior image quality.
While the system accelerates operational decision-making processes, it also contributes to increasing mission effectiveness.
