A new over-ear headphone model that Apple has not yet introduced appeared in the US Federal Communications Commission records. The device, listed with model number A3577, is described in the records as a Bluetooth over-ear headset. While the documents show that the product was prepared on behalf of Apple, most of the design and technical features are currently inaccessible due to privacy requests. FCC registration indicates a new Apple or Beats headset.
A new Apple product with model number A3577 was included in the documents published by the US Federal Communications Commission. In the recording, the device is referred to as Bluetooth over-ear headphones. This description clarifies that the product is an over-ear headset that uses a wireless connection. The resulting information shows that the device is not AirPods Max 2. Because the known model number for AirPods Max 2 is A3454.
The number A3577 in the new record belongs to a different product. Since Apple uses the model number format starting with A in its product families for both AirPods and Beats, it is not yet clear whether this record belongs to a directly Apple-branded or Beats-branded headphone. FCC documents also include information that the product has a built-in battery, microphone and antenna in the tested device information section.
These components are among the expected hardware for the Bluetooth headset category. However, details such as driver structure, active noise canceling, transparency mode, spatial sound, connection chip, battery life, USB-C support or color options are not shared. The records indicate that the product is Apple Inc. It is stated that it was prepared on behalf of the company and includes the company address. It is common for technical compliance documents to appear in FCC applications before the product is released to the market.
In response, Apple has requested temporary confidentiality for parts of the documents that may provide design and technical details about the product. The only visual visible in the current documents is a general drawing of the headset showing where the FCC identification label is located on the product. There are no design details in this drawing that would distinguish the product. Information such as the headband structure, headphone case, button placement or brand logo are not visible at this stage.
This record may also be connected to a new model on the Beats side. Beats Studio Pro was released in July 2023, creating a cycle of approximately three years in the brand’s on-ear series. Therefore, it is possible that A3577 is an updated Beats Studio Pro model. However, since the name Beats is not mentioned in the FCC documents, the product name, sales date and marketing position are not yet clear. On Apple’s headphone side, model numbers do not always directly distinguish the product family.
A similar model number structure starting with A is used in both AirPods Max models and Beats products. Therefore, the A3577 registration alone does not definitively indicate that the product belongs to the AirPods, AirPods Max or Beats series.
