ASPILSAN, which produces batteries for the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), also extends its capabilities to the civilian field and exports its storable energy products to the USA, South Korea and European countries. ASPİLSAN Energy, which produces Turkey’s first cylindrical lithium ion batteries, has developed portable suitcase, bag and shelf type batteries that can be used in all kinds of areas, especially in disaster situations.

The Lithium Ion Battery Production Facility, established by the company in Kayseri in 2022 with an investment of approximately 1.5 billion lira, has the capacity to produce approximately 21 million batteries annually. The factory supports renewable energy sources with the environmentally friendly batteries it produces, and also develops international collaborations with investments in the clean energy market. ASPİLSAN, which has made a name for itself by producing more than 300 batteries for storable energy and batteries for aircraft, ships, unmanned aerial vehicles and rail systems, also contributes to the country’s economy with exports.

“ASPİLSAN is not a customer of technologies in the world, but the founder of technologies” ASPİLSAN Energy General Manager Ahmet Turan Özdemir told the AA reporter that ASPİLSAN, which grows with the investment of philanthropists, grows stronger every day. Özdemir stated that they continue to grow more and more each day in their workplaces, where they come to work tirelessly every day. Emphasizing that they do not remain within the borders of Turkey with the products they produce, but also expand to the world, Özdemir said, “ASPILSAN is not a customer of technologies in the world, but the founder of technologies.

As you know, storable energy is the oil of the 21st century. We are not a spectator of this change, but we are working to be one of the direct parties of this change.” he said. Özdemir, emphasizing that they are not strangers to the change in the world, said: “ASPILSAN Energy is one of the main organizations that drives this change in Turkey and in the world. We are an organization that not only transfers technology unilaterally in the agreements we have made, but also exports it to third countries.

We recently made it in South Korea. We received great support from our South Korean Ambassador Murat Tamer in this contract. Mr. Murat said that in technology transfers from South Korea to Turkey, the outputs are exported to third countries.” He said that the first contract displayed was made by ASPILSAN Energy. “This made us proud.” “We will be a company that is more known for exports.” Pointing out that ASPİLSAN is one of the important factories of the independent supply chain, Özdemir said: “Again, NATO wants the energy resources, batteries, cells and batteries used by its own stakeholders to be produced with independent supply chains from China.

There is a huge demand in this direction in the coming years, starting next year. We started exporting high technology products to these countries, especially Romania, the USA and Europe, both in the form of semi-finished electrodes and final products, cells and batteries. This is an international indicator of the critical situation of ASPİLSAN Energy. A qualified battery production facility and qualified personnel like ASPİLSAN’s are few and far between in the world, and impossible to find when we go outside Asia.

Despite the high incentives and support mechanisms, including in the USA, there are still no factories that can produce the production we do in this factory. We have also signed agreements that will access these ecosystems and markets here. We will be a company known more for exports in the coming years. As our President of Defense Industries said, ‘Export is not a trade, it is geopolitical endurance.’ We continue our activities with this motivation.” Source: AA
