Prof. to the Chairman of Turkish Airlines (THY) Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Dr. Ahmet Bolat was replaced by Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker was appointed as the General Manager of THY, and Ahmet Olulmuş was appointed instead of Bilal Ekşi. According to the statement made by THY Directorate of Communications, new names were appointed to the board of directors and general manager positions with the appointments made in line with the company’s corporate goals.

Prof. has been working as a manager in critical areas such as finance, treasury and investor relations within the company for many years. Dr. Murat Şeker was appointed as the Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines. Dr. Murat Şeker Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker graduated from Marmara University, Department of Industrial Engineering in 2000, received his Master’s degree in Economics from Sabancı University and his doctorate in economics from the University of Minnesota. Continuing his career with important duties in the international arena, Prof. Dr. Şeker worked as an economist at the World Bank between 2008 and 2013, took part in many projects in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, international trade and growth in developing countries, and carried out policy reports and academic studies.

Prof. served as Head of Financial Institutions and Investor Relations Department at Ziraat Bank between 2013 and 2016. Dr. Şeker managed the bank’s international financing activities, and during the same period, he served as a board member at Ziraat Investment, Ziraat Hayat ve Emeklilik and Ziraat Sigorta. Appointed as THY Deputy General Manager in July 2016, Prof. Dr. Şeker undertook the management of critical areas such as financing, treasury operations, accounting, purchasing and investor relations.

As of March 2021, Prof. also serves as a Member of the THY Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Dr. Şeker is also a member of Turkish Airlines Teknik A.Ş. and serves as a Board Member at SunExpress. Prof. Dr. Şeker has been a member of the Financial Advisory Council established by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 2024 and has been its chairman since 2025. Şeker, who also carries out active studies in the academic field, worked as a part-time instructor at Boğaziçi University between 2015 and 2018, and received the title of Professor as of December 2025.

Prof. Dr. Şeker is married and has three children. THY General Manager Ahmet Ollamış Ahmet Ollamış, who was appointed as THY General Manager, was born in Istanbul in 1980. Having completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University, Department of Business Administration, Ollamış received his master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) within the scope of the international program carried out in cooperation with Long Island University (New York), European Business School (London) and Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci (Paris).

Olmuş’s career journey started in 2000 as a part-time employee at THY Call Center. Reinforcing the field experience he gained at one of the most basic contact points of the company with the duties he has undertaken over the years, Ollamış has achieved an exemplary success story that extends to the top management position of THY. After working as a Flight Analyst within the Revenue Management Department at THY, Ollamış held critical positions such as General Distribution Systems Manager, Revenue Management and Pricing Manager and Head of Revenue Management.

He served as Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Sales since 2014. Olmuş has led the company’s commercial activities as Deputy General Manager since 2024. Throughout his career, he has focused on flight network planning, revenue management and pricing strategies, sales and marketing activities, customer experience practices and Miles.
