RIZE (AA) – Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey (TZOB), Şemsi Bayraktar, said, “As the chambers of agriculture and the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey, we have always stood behind ÇAYKUR. It is extremely important for us that it survives. We need to keep ÇAYKUR alive.” he said. Bayraktar said that, as TZOB, they have made significant progress in the last 15 years at the 5th Traditional Ancestral Seed Sapling Distribution event organized by Çayeli Chamber of Agriculture and Çayeli Mukhtars Association.
Stating that they had the opportunity to provide training to 1 million farmers through the chambers of agriculture, Bayraktar emphasized that they wanted to increase this number even more and that the issue of education should not be left out. Bayraktar stated that they have implemented approximately 500 rural development projects and continued his words as follows: “We have served our farmers through our chambers and with these projects.
Farming is a difficult profession. Look, I have been traveling for weeks and I have seen rains. I was in Amasya and Tokat last week. Before that, I was in other provinces. The rains came as a blessing. Our production will definitely increase, which means it is the most important rain of the last 100-150 years.” We are living the regime. Indeed, when we look at the rainfall regime of the last 6 months, it is something we have not really seen.
We are pleased with this, as a result our production is increasing. Due to excessive rainfall, overflows occurred in dams from time to time. Flood disasters and floods occurred. Of course, these also damage the agricultural area.” – “We demand that social security premiums be paid by the state.” Stating that young people should take part in agriculture and production, Bayraktar said, “We are discussing this, so there are some incentives regarding this.

After his speech, Bayraktar distributed saplings to the participants.
