Bendevi Palandöken, Chairman of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), requested that the number of premium days be reduced to 7,200 so that millions of Bağ-Kur employees can retire early. Mayor Palandöken brought up again the request to reduce the number of premium days from 9 thousand to 7 thousand 200 in order to eliminate the injustice in the retirement conditions of Bağ-Kur members. While in the current system, citizens with SSI have the right to retire with 7,200 premium days, it is noteworthy that this period goes up to 9,000 days for Bağ-Kur members.
TESK Chairman Palandöken stated that SSK members and Bağ-Kur members are included in the same social security system, but the difference in the number of premium days creates injustice in the system. EARLY RETIREMENT FOR TRADESMEN Stating that small tradesmen have been under the burden of high premiums for many years due to economic conditions, Palandöken said that reducing the number of premium days to 7 thousand 200 may mean early retirement for tradesmen.
Palandöken stated that if the regulation in question is implemented, many Bağ-Kur students could retire earlier, and emphasized that the government should take steps on this issue as soon as possible. On the other hand, in previous statements made by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, it was stated that efforts were continuing to reduce the number of Bağ-Kur premium days to 7 thousand 200. STATEMENT FROM MINISTER IŞIKHAN Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated that reducing the number of premium days from 9 thousand to 7 thousand 200 was among the promises made during the election period and that the work was continuing.
On the other hand, it is evaluated that if the regulation is implemented, there may be significant changes in the retirement processes of small tradesmen and Bağ-Kur members. Experts state that if the government takes a new step, injustice in the social security system can decrease and the unity of norms can be strengthened.
