AFAD announced that a 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred today at 09.00 in Malatya’s Battalgazi district, and the earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.03 kilometers underground. The earthquake was felt in Malatya as well as in surrounding provinces such as Kahramanmaraş and Diyarbakır.
In a statement made after the earthquake, Malatya Governorship reported that there was no loss of life or property in the incident. After the announcement, parents and students began to wonder whether schools would be closed or not.
GOVERNORSHIP ANNOUNCED
According to the information obtained in this context, Malatya Governorship announced that education was suspended for 1 day throughout the city on Wednesday, May 20. It was stated that education will restart in all educational institutions in the city after the break.
