Ferrari introduced the brand’s first fully electric car, Luce. The model, which comes with a four-door and five-seat structure, opened a new page in Ferrari history with a 122 kWh battery, four electric motors, over 1,000 horsepower, 350 kW fast charging support and a range of over 500 kilometers. Ferrari Luce features and priceFerrari Luce was introduced as the first fully electric car that the brand has ever put into mass production.
The model, which comes with the name Luce, which means light in Italian, uses a four-door and five-seat body structure, unlike the classic Ferrari line. Ferrari had previously brought electrically assisted powertrain systems into mass production with hybrid models such as the SF90 Stradale, 296 and F80. Luce became the first Ferrari model to completely leave the internal combustion engine behind. The design of the new model bears the signature of LoveFrom, founded by Jony Ive and Marc Newson.
Ferrari Luce came with a larger, more glass-heavy body that differs from traditional supercar proportions in exterior design and offers larger living space. The vehicle has mutually opening doors, a large trunk lid at the back, integrated light panels, upright parking wipers and an aerodynamic structure with the lowest drag coefficient among Ferrari’s road cars. Ferrari Luce is 197.9 inches long. This value corresponds to approximately 5.03 meters.
The model surpasses Purosangue in terms of length. On the height side, a lower building was preferred compared to Purosangue. The all-aluminum body was built on a new architecture suitable for the placement of batteries and electric motors. Luce’s cabin was designed for five passengers. The absence of a central tunnel in the rear section opened up space for seating for three people in the second row. The trunk volume of the vehicle was announced as approximately 600 liters.
This volume was recorded as the largest luggage space Ferrari has ever offered. OLED screens, physical buttons and rotary controls are used together in the interior. Although there are three separate analog-looking rings on the instrument panel, all of these sections consist of digital displays. The center screen can rotate towards the driver or front passenger. There is a second screen behind the center console for rear passengers.
The steering wheel has real physical controls instead of the touch surfaces used in Purosangue. There are two different manettino controls on the steering wheel of Ferrari Luce. While the classic five-stage manettino manages the driving modes, the e-manettino determines the character of the electric powertrain. The paddles behind the steering wheel are not used for traditional gear shifting. The left paddle adjusts the five-stage regenerative braking level, and the right paddle adjusts the five-stage torque access.
On the power transmission side, an electric motor is used for each wheel. Luce, which has four electric motors in total, produces over 1,000 horsepower. In the technical data, the total power is stated as 830 kW, that is, approximately 1,050 cv. In US sources, this value is given as 1,035 hp. The difference stems from cv, hp and bhp conversions. Performance values are in line with Ferrari standards. Luce accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.
The acceleration time from 0 to 200 km/h was announced as 6.8 seconds. The maximum speed is 310 km/h. The vehicle also features Launch Mode, which is activated via a special lever on the ceiling console. This mode adjusts the traction control and torque transfer according to the highest performance during takeoff. A package with a gross capacity of 122 kWh is used on the battery side. The battery is positioned as part of the chassis structure of the vehicle.
Ferrari prepared the battery pack and electric motors with its own engineering process. Luce comes with 800V electrical architecture and offers DC fast charging support up to 350 kW. According to the WLTP standard, the range is over 500 kilometers. The official value has not been announced by the US EPA; Approximately 280 miles are predicted for the equivalent of European data in the US measurement system. The chassis side includes four-wheel steering, active suspension and torque vectoring system.
Separate torque management can be done on the front and rear axle. The brakes use 15.4 inch discs at the front and 14.6 inch discs at the rear. The wheels measure 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear. These wheels are among the largest wheel sets used by Ferrari on road cars. One of the most striking technical parts of Luce was the sound system. Ferrari did not use artificial V8 or V12 engine sounds in the car.
Instead, real mechanical vibrations coming from the rear axle are received, processed and transferred to the cabin by a special system. The sound level changes depending on the selected driving mode. The system also gives sound to the outside. The European price of Ferrari Luce was announced as approximately 550 thousand euros. This figure corresponds to approximately 640 thousand dollars at the current exchange rate.
European deliveries of the model will begin in the last quarter of 2026. Sales for the US market are expected to begin in 2027. The US price has not been announced yet.
