ANKARA (AA) – Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek met with Istanbul MPs at a consultation meeting. A statement was made by the Ministry of Justice regarding the meeting at Ankara Judge’s House. According to the statement, speaking at the meeting, Gürlek stated that important steps have been taken in the digitalization of judicial services and that the scope of e-hearing application has been expanded in some cases. Reminding that e-hearings are widely used, Minister Gürlek said, “We have expanded the scope of some cases.
Especially in the regional court of justice and the preliminary examination hearing, our lawyers will now be able to apply via e-hearing from their offices without going to the hearing. We have made a legal regulation regarding this.” he said. Gürlek announced that two more business departments will be established within the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice in the summer decree on judges and prosecutors, which will be published in June.
Stating that the number of judges and prosecutors working in Istanbul will increase, Gürlek said, “There are 6 appellate chambers. Business chambers. We are establishing 2 more business chambers. We are increasing the number of courts. In this decree, we focused especially on Istanbul. “We are increasing the number of all chambers in the Regional Court of Justice.” he said. Stating that consultation meetings have become traditional, Gürlek noted that the regional meetings held with MPs were productive.
