TRABZON (AA) – Preparations for the new season have been completed in Uzungöl, one of the important tourism centers of Trabzon. Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin, Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç and protocol members inspected the tourism center in Çaykara district. In his statement here, Governor Şahin said that the tourism spots in Trabzon are in peace and security. Stating that the number of tourists in the city is increasing every year, Şahin said, “There is a 27 percent increase in the total number of local and foreign tourists in the first 5 months of 2026 compared to the first 5 months of last year.
All institutions will continue to work in a coordinated manner for the development of our city in every sense.” he said. Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç emphasized that all preparations have been completed before the new tourism season in Uzungöl and said: “We are in Uzungöl to make evaluations before the new tourism season and to strengthen the coordination between our institutions. Uzungöl is one of our most important destinations in tourism, which has been the rising value of Trabzon in recent years.” We complete all our preparations, from security to transportation, from cleaning to fire brigade and police services, in order to welcome and send off our guests in the best possible way.
“I would like to express with great pride that Trabzon is one of the safest tourism centers in Turkey today.” Referring to the contribution of tourism to the economy of the city and the country, Genç said, “Regardless of the religion, language or race of tourists, if they come here because of the charm of our region, it is our responsibility to host them in the best possible way. We work in coordination with all our institutions under the leadership of our Governorship to increase the contribution of tourism to the economy.
