KASTAMONU (AA) – BİLAL KAHYAOĞLU – National boxers Berfin Kabak and Eda Nur Kılıçcı continue their training with the aim of reaching the Olympic medal. In her career, Eda Nur Kılıçcı has one gold and 3 silver medals in Turkey and a second place in international tournaments, and Berfin Kabak has 6 gold medals in Turkey and 3 first places in international organizations. National boxers continue their training at Kastamonu National Teams Camp Training Center to achieve success by participating in the Mediterranean Games and European championships this year and the 2028 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles, USA.
National boxer Eda Nur Kılıçcı told the AA reporter that she started boxing secretly from her family at the age of 12 with her 4 friends. Eda Nur said, “Later, I was the only one left among those four girls. They left. Then, after national teams and Turkish championships, I am here.” 22-year-old Eda Nur, a fourth-year student at Kırıkkale University, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Department of Coaching, stated that she competed in the ring at 51 kilos.
Providing information about the degrees she has achieved so far, Eda Nur said: “We have been in the camp since the beginning of the year. We have only been in our own home for two weeks. It is going to be a full time. I hope we will finish with medals. Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, Busenaz Sürmeneli and our other sisters… They have led us. We want to continue this work even higher. Because we know that there is a generation to come after them.

Stating that he won the gold medal in the tournament held in Azerbaijan this year and the silver medal in the 63rd Belgrade Winner International Boxing Tournament, 24-year-old 65 kilo athlete Berfin said, “Our sisters are a light for us. We are following their path. Our goals are big. We are on a good track individually and as a team.” We also have good leaders as the women’s team. My goal is the 2028 Olympics. For this reason, we are moving forward with small touches, step by step.” he said.
