BMC, one of the land vehicle manufacturers of the Turkish defense industry, is preparing to offer the unarmored PAMİR 4×4 Load and Personnel Transport Vehicle to the security forces. BMC Chairman of the Board of Directors Fuat Tosyalı made a statement to the AA correspondent at the SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair, where Anadolu Agency (AA) is the Global Communication Partner. Stating that the PAMİR 4×4 vehicle, which was showcased for the first time at the fair, is ready for delivery, Tosyalı said that the vehicle was developed to meet the new needs in the field.
Tosyalı said, “With the dissipation of the atmosphere of terror in Turkey, the need for an unarmored light vehicle that our forces can use in the field and carry both personnel and load more agilely has emerged. To meet this, we developed our PAMİR 4×4 vehicle. It will be a more economical, lighter, and very practical transportation vehicle for carrying personnel and light loads, in the field, in all conditions.” he said.
Stating that PAMİR is not a prototype, Tosyalı said, “This vehicle is not a prototype. It is a vehicle that has completed all its tests and is ready for delivery. We have unveiled it and now we have introduced it to international buyers.” “Our forces have already been testing our vehicle for a long time.” he said. The production base in Ankara operates 24/7. Providing information about BMC’s tank and armored vehicle production complex in Ankara, Tosyalı said: “Our tank and new generation armored vehicles production complex in Ankara has become 24/7 production with almost all its units.
We deliver our tanks within the framework of our anticipated production and delivery schedule. In addition, the production of our 8×8 armored personnel carriers has started. “The modernization of our leopard tanks is also carried out here.” Tosyalı emphasized that the facility has become a critical center in Turkey’s tracked and wheeled armored vehicle production. The use of domestic engines in land vehicles is becoming widespread.
Evaluating the current situation in engine and transmission projects, Tosyalı said, “Our 1500 horsepower BATU engine passed NATO tests by the end of the year and received NATO approval. These were very heavy tests, tests carried out with loads above normal needs. Currently, our engines are in the mass production phase. “We are progressing according to the schedule on the power group side.” he said. Stating that the first tanks were delivered with the existing power groups, but planning for the commissioning of domestic systems continues, Tosyalı stated that this transition is proceeding smoothly.
Stating that the use of domestic engines has increased in BMC’s other land vehicles, Tosyalı stated that production in different power classes continues. TOGG ranks first in electric vehicles. On the civilian side, Tosyalı made a statement regarding the work on TOGG, Turkey’s domestic car, and said, “TOGG ranks first in electric cars by far. It also ranks first in total sales. We are successfully continuing our goal of increasing production from 40 thousand to 60 thousand this year.
The vehicles are not waiting in stock, orders are currently being delivered approximately 2 months later.” he said. Emphasizing that BMC continues its locomotive role in the defense industry in land vehicles with the new products and ongoing projects exhibited at SAHA 2026, Fuat Tosyalı stated that their growth targets continue in both the domestic and international markets.
