ARES Shipyard launched the first boat within the scope of the 16 ARES 18 SAR Search and Rescue Boat Project to be built for the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Coastal Safety (KEGM). In the statement made by the shipyard, it was stated that this important milestone once again demonstrates ARES Shipyard’s ability to design, build and deliver mission-oriented marine vessels for coast guard organizations, maritime authorities and public institutions around the world.

The contract between ARES Shipyard and the General Directorate of Coastal Safety was signed on May 21, 2025. In October 2025, the welding ceremony of the first ARES 18 SAR boats was held with the participation of Coastal Police General Manager Mustafa Bankaoğlu, ARES Shipyard General Manager Oğuzhan Pehlivanlı, engineers, technicians and project stakeholders.
