New developments are taking place within the scope of the investigation into university student Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Tunceli in 2020. In this context, Umut Altaş, who was issued a red notice and was considered the key name of the investigation, was detained in New York, USA. Images of the moments when Altaş was taken into custody also emerged. In the footage, he was seen being handcuffed and taken away by plainclothes police officers while he was sitting in a cafe.

In the images shared with the public by journalist Emrullah Erdinç, it was seen that Altaş was detained by plainclothes police while sitting in a cafe. Within the scope of the investigation, 15 suspects were previously detained and 12 of these people were arrested. Three suspects were released on condition of judicial control.
