The new generation converter and management units, which serve as “nervous system” components of platforms such as aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and armored vehicles, will be showcased for the first time at SAHA 2026. SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair, organized by SAHA Istanbul, Turkey’s and Europe’s largest defense, aviation and space industry cluster, will be held at Istanbul Expo Center on 5-9 May.
In the twelfth news of the Anadolu Agency (AA) file titled “The heart of technology will beat in SAHA”, the subsystems developed for the needs of the defense industry and which will be exhibited for the first time at SAHA 2026 were included. Barko Elektronik, which has attracted attention with its unique system and subsystem designs in the defense industry since 2011, will introduce the SAGUN product family for the first time, reflecting its localization vision.
These products ensure that military systems with different languages communicate with each other and that this is not interrupted in the most challenging conditions. Functionally, these units serve as “nervous system” components of platforms such as aircraft, UAVs and armored vehicles. Developed to military standards, SAGUN MIL-STD-1553 USB Converter, SAGUN Ethernet RS485/RS422 Converter and SAGUN LMU Launcher Management Unit are intended to make strong contributions to ensuring reliability in data transmission between platforms.
SAGUN series is designed to provide uninterrupted data flow and system management in the most challenging environmental conditions. The products will operate safely in modern battlefields where electromagnetic pollution is intense. SAGUN MIL-STD-1553 USB Converter is positioned as the new assistant of avionics tests. MIL-STD-1553 data bus, which is indispensable for aviation and defense systems, now becomes much more accessible and portable with the SAGUN MIL-STD-1553 USB Converter.
With its dual-channel structure, the device can monitor simultaneously on two independent 1553 buses and perform control, monitoring and terminal emulation. Thanks to its compact structure, it offers engineers great mobility not only in laboratories, but also on the flight line and in field tests. The advantage of driverless installation increases operational speed. Aiming for uninterrupted communication of military systems even in the most challenging environmental conditions, SAGUN Ethernet RS485/RS422 Converter stands out with its mechanical durability.
Compliant with MIL-STD-810 standards, the unit is equipped with sealing, impact and shock protection, and does not contain any moving parts thanks to its passive cooling design. By operating in Serial Terminal Server mode, it creates a secure and effective communication layer on platforms with space constraints. SAGUN LMU Launcher Management Unit allows full control of launcher systems. It collects all management needs of modern missile and rocket systems in a single center.
SAGUN Launcher Management Unit (LMU), which is the backbone component of missile and rocket launch systems, offers the deterministic data management needed in the modern warfare field. With its redundant power input and high current protection, it ensures system continuity in mission-critical moments. Its flexible architecture allows rapid integration into different launcher configurations. Barko Elektronik officials emphasized that the SAGUN product family is not only a transformer, but also strategic components that reduce the foreign dependency of the Turkish defense industry at the system architecture level.
