The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command has awarded a $150 million contract to L3Harris Technologies for the support and modernization of space surveillance systems. The contract was signed as part of the MOSSAIC (Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities) program, which focuses on increasing space domain awareness. Studies to be carried out; It includes ensuring the sustainability of ground systems used to track objects in space, updating these systems, supporting early threat detection and accelerating operational decision-making processes.
MOSSAIC program; It stands out as a long-term initiative that aims to provide reliable surveillance data to military, civilian and commercial users. L3Harris officials stated that this contract will further advance the company’s experience in space domain awareness technologies and ground system operations.
