ISTANBUL (AA) – Zero Waste Festival opened its doors to visitors at Ataturk Airport with its comprehensive content ranging from energy efficiency to circular economy, from technology to art. The festival, which attracts intense participation, hosts fun moments as well as awareness activities. Workshops, environmentally themed games, competitions and interactive educational programs are organized for children and young people to produce toys and works of art from recycled materials.
Within the scope of the events, sand art master Veysel Çelikdemir offered an unforgettable experience to the participants with his show where he brought the fascinating harmony of light, music and sand to the stage. While the themes of recycling and environmental cleanliness were brought to the stage with fun characters, the children had a great time. “Fungistanbul” took the stage with its instruments made of recycled materials and provided enjoyable moments for families and children.
Children also carried out sapling planting activities in the areas created within the scope of the festival. Today, Recycled Orchestra of Cateura will also perform on the festival stage with their instruments made from recycled waste materials. The festival brings together cultural, artistic and scientific events with the theme “Energy Efficiency, Transformation in the Future”. There are different applications in the festival area that appeal to everyone, from children to young people, from families to technology enthusiasts. At the festival, which has a wide range of content from renewable energy technologies to artificial intelligence-supported applications, from recycling workshops to sustainable transportation solutions, participants can analyze their environmental impacts with circular economy applications, waste management systems, carbon and water footprint measurement areas.
In special experience areas prepared with virtual reality technologies, changes in ecosystems and the effects of the climate crisis can be observed interactively. While there are presentations that question production and consumption habits in the Zero Waste Museum area, exhibitions prepared by utilizing the transformative power of art draw attention to the limitations of resources and invite visitors to a more sustainable understanding of life.
