ELAZIĞ (AA) – 12 tons of waste were collected during the environmental cleaning work carried out around Hazar Lake in Sivrice district of Elazığ. Elazığ Governor Numan Hatipoğlu, in his post on his social media account, stated that it is a common responsibility to protect Hazar Lake, one of the city’s important tourism values, and to transfer it to future generations in a clean manner. Stating that a comprehensive environmental cleaning work was carried out on the 56-kilometer shoreline of the lake by the Special Provincial Administration teams before the summer season, Hatipoğlu said: “As a result of the work carried out with the participation of 10 vehicles and 50 personnel, the coastline, recreation areas and areas frequently used by our citizens were meticulously cleaned, and a total of 12 tons of waste was collected and removed from the region.
With this work, it was aimed to both prevent environmental pollution and preserve the natural beauty and tourism potential of Hazar Lake. All those benefiting from Hazar Lake.” I invite our citizens to be more sensitive about the environment. Let us not forget that a clean Caspian Lake is the most valuable legacy not only for today but also for our future. “Let’s protect our nature, keep our environment clean and protect this unique beauty together.” Hatipoğlu thanked the Special Provincial Administration staff who took part in the study.
