ANKARA (AA) – Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran stated that they will implement the Children’s CİMER Platform as the Directorate of Communications and said, “We are now waiting for you to send your suggestions and ideas to CİMER.” he said. Duran, in his speech at the “Adding Color to CİMER Painting Competition Award Ceremony” organized by the Directorate of Communications, said that this program was one of the most beautiful and colorful meetings held in the Directorate of Communications.
Stating that children will both have fun and gain knowledge in this event, Duran said, “But before experiencing this, I would like to remind you of an issue. Today, June 4th is the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Conflict. I hereby commemorate the tens of thousands of children who unfortunately lost their lives, especially in Palestine and Lebanon. We want it to be a world full of peace, enthusiasm and joy, full of liveliness and beautification.
We are doing our best for this. But I know that in a time when you rule and shape this world, I hope it will be more beautiful.” Good things will happen.” he said. – “You have a lot to contribute to us” Duran stated that he liked the project about the “Add Color to CİMER Painting Competition” when it was presented to him and expressed his satisfaction in implementing it. Reminding that children and young people took part in the competition, Duran said, “You have a lot to contribute to us.
Because you see the world differently than us. When I say ‘we’, I mean people who are in middle age or getting older. There is a brand new world in front of you, and I believe that you will make this world better with your ideas and actions. For this reason, first of all, I kiss all of you in the eyes and thank you for your efforts.” he said. Duran noted that all the paintings sent to the competition were very beautiful and that the owners of the works would be the communicators of the future.
Pointing out that the children explained CİMER very well with their pictures, Duran continued as follows: “We saw that CİMER was described as a letter, a tree, a mailbox, a pigeon. Many of the 1300 pictures were really worthy of receiving awards. But unfortunately, we can only give awards to 6 of them. What did I see in these pictures? First of all, I saw the trust of our children, our youth, in our state.” Let me give you an example in this context.
Our 8-year-old daughter Nefise from Yozgat says, ‘This picture is primarily my gift to our President. I love him very much. I learned about CİMER while doing my painting. CİMER is just like the wish and complaint box in our school. CİMER is a great thing to know our rights and beautify our environment.” – “We published our booklet ‘CIMER in 25 Questions’ specifically for children.” Reminding that CIMER is a mechanism generally applied by adults, Duran said: “As the Directorate of Communications, we are implementing the Children’s CIMER Platform.
We have the Cumhur Dede book, we updated it. We published our booklet ‘CIMER in 25 Questions’ specially for children. Each of these shows us that if the nation tells us how the state should be run, then you and our children are the subjects of this. Why am I saying this? There are so many good ideas coming out that when my 9-year-old daughter shares such ideas with me, I say, ‘Young people and children know this business better than us and have very bright ideas.’ We are waiting for your ideas and contributions.
This issue does not only mean complaining, not only expressing good wishes, but also saying CIMER and conveying your suggestions. For example, there needs to be a traffic light somewhere on the street. You say, ‘Cars have difficulty passing here. Let’s put a traffic light here.’ These kinds of demands and requests are conveyed to CİMER. “We are now waiting for you to send your suggestions and ideas to CİMER.” Explaining that they made sure that some of the wishes of the children, such as “flying with a helicopter” or “celebrating a birthday with the police”, were realized, Duran said, “Everyone from 7 to 70 can use CİMER.
This is an example of participatory democracy. This is a mechanism through which citizens can convey their wishes to the state. It is a process that started in 1994, when our President was the Mayor at the time. Later, it became BİMER during his Prime Ministry period. During his presidency, it became CİMER under its current name.” he said. Providing information about the number of applications made to CİMER, Duran said, “There were 5 million 525 thousand applications to CİMER in 2025.
96.8 percent of these applications were answered and the response time is 12 days. Has CİMER received an award for this success? Yes. He received the Golden Compass award in 2019, 2021 and 2025. He received the International Public Relations Association Golden Globe Award of Excellence.” he said. Duran said that they added a new direction to CİMER with “Child CİMER” and paved the way for new achievements and awards. – “If we depend too much on the digital world, we will experience attention deficit.” Stating that children represent the future and that today’s children will decide what the world will be like, Duran said: “As an elder, I would like to remind you of a few things.
You know, this digital world, the world with computers, tablets and phones. That world is a world you were born into. It didn’t exist in my childhood. Likewise, it was not there in Alper Gezeravcı’s childhood. But what happened next? The digital world has grown. We have to use this world well. If we depend too much on the digital world, we will suffer from attention deficit. We experience some fears, encounter bullying, or fall into endless clicking and screen scrolling.
We are in danger from some fake and harmful content. We have to be careful about the games we love because we may get harmed by them. Then we will be aware of these. As our President stated, we will not leave our children alone and unattended in the uncontrolled, uncontrolled and threatening climate of digital media. Together with you, we will manage this digital space. “We will benefit from good things, but we will also be protected from troubles.” After his speech, Duran presented plaques and awards to the winners of the works in the primary and secondary school categories.
Before his speech, Duran visited the exhibition containing some of the works sent to the competition. Turkey’s first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı, Directorate of Communications managers and many students attended the program. 16There are 54 geographically registered foods among the products offered for sale at the Gastronomy House, where the traditional flavors of Hatay are introduced. 26There are 54 geographically registered foods among the products offered for sale at the Gastronomy House, where the traditional flavors of Hatay are introduced.
