19 irregular immigrants were caught in Izmir, 11 immigrants were rescued

İZMİR (AA) – 19 irregular immigrants were caught in İzmir’s Çiğli district, and 11 irregular immigrants were rescued in Dikili district.

According to the statement on the website of the Coast Guard Command, the moving fiber boat, which was detected by the Coast Guard boat off the coast of Çiğli district, was stopped. 19 irregular immigrants on the boat were caught.

Off the coast of Dikili district, a boat team was dispatched to the region upon information that the fiber boat with irregular immigrants was drifting due to engine failure and a request for help was made.

11 irregular immigrants, including 5 children, were rescued from the boat by the Coast Guard teams.

Irregular immigrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management after their procedures.
