A chemical leak occurred at the workplace where there was an armed attack in Samsun

SAMSUN (AA) – A chemical leak occurred at the workplace where an armed attack took place in Samsun’s Tekkeköy district. A recycling company operating in the 19 Mayıs Industrial Site in the district was contacted by U.G. from another workplace. He was shot at many times. The bullets hit 4 1-ton tanks filled with chemical mixtures of solvent-thinner at the recycling company. Chemical substances began to flow into the workplace from the breached warehouses.

Upon notice, the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD), Samsun Metropolitan Municipality fire department and medical teams were dispatched to the region. AFAD and police teams took security measures in the region. Meanwhile, 6 police officers who were slightly affected by the chemical leak were discharged after treatment at the hospital where they were taken. AFAD, fire brigade and police teams continue to work in the region.

U.G. left the area by car after the incident. He was caught by police teams in Canik district. On the other hand, it was claimed that the incident occurred due to a property owner-tenant dispute.
