A new desktop graphics card is being added to AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series. The model, which appeared under the name Radeon RX 9050, attracts attention with 8 GB GDDR6 memory, Navi 44 XT GPU and the same number of stream processors as the Radeon RX 9060 XT. The card has not yet been officially announced by AMD, but the leaked technical table points to a different positioning in the entry-level RDNA 4 family. Radeon RX 9050’s technical specifications have been leaked.
Radeon RX 9050 is based on the Navi 44 XT GPU, according to the leaked information. The card includes 2,048 stream processors and 32 processing units. This number is on par with the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB. In comparison, the standard Radeon RX 9060 model has 1,792 stream processors and 28 processing units. This shows that although the RX 9050 is positioned lower in terms of naming, it is ahead of the RX 9060 in the number of cores.
The main point where the card differs is the clock speeds. The gaming frequency for the Radeon RX 9050 is listed as up to 1,920 MHz, and the boost frequency is listed as up to 2,600 MHz. On the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB side, these values are 2,530 MHz and 3,130 MHz, respectively. The standard RX 9060 comes with a gaming frequency of 2,400 MHz and a boost frequency of 2,990 MHz. Therefore, the RX 9050 works with lower frequencies despite the same Navi 44 XT configuration.
On the memory side, there is 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM for the Radeon RX 9050. The memory speed is listed as 18 Gbps and the bus is listed as 128-bit. This configuration provides 288 GB/s memory bandwidth. The RX 9060 XT 8 GB model has 320 GB/s bandwidth with 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory. In other words, while the RX 9050 is close to the RX 9060 XT in the number of cores, it draws a picture closer to the standard RX 9060 on the memory side.
On the connection side, there is a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface for the card. As for the display outputs, one HDMI 2.1b and two DisplayPort 2.1a connections are listed. In the leaked technical information, the recommended power supply value is stated as 450W, but there is no clear value for the total card power yet. Considering that the RX 9060 is listed with 132W and the RX 9060 XT 8 GB model is listed with 150W total card power, the position of the RX 9050 on the power consumption side will become clear with the official announcement.
