The same sense of 3D depth is available in the Photos app and Photos’ Home Screen widget in iOS 26. However, the most visible use of the feature occurs in photos directly selected as iPhone wallpapers. While the user creates a new wallpaper, iOS 26 shows the recommended wallpapers under the Spatial Scenes title.
When one of the images in this section is selected, the 3D effect is automatically applied. Thus, the user can directly create a wallpaper with effects without having to search for a compatible photo. The feature can also be used manually. To do this, you need to go to the Wallpaper section in the Settings application and tap on the Add New Wallpaper option. Then, select the Photos option at the top left and select the photo you want to use as wallpaper.
Spatial Scene is created when the geometric photo icon at the bottom right of the screen is touched. After the effect is prepared, the 3D view can be tested by moving the iPhone left and right. In the last step, the new wallpaper is saved when the “Add” button is pressed.
