Opel introduced the Corsa GSE, the new fully electric performance version of the Corsa family. Producing 207 kW power and 345 Nm torque, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. With this value, Corsa GSE stands out in the brand’s electric performance range as one of Opel’s fastest accelerating mass production models. The new Opel Corsa GSE made a strong entry into the electric hot hatch class. The new Opel Corsa GSE carries the electric performance approach of the brand’s GSE product family to the Corsa body.

Opel brought the GSE name forward again in 2025 with the Mokka GSE Rally, Mokka GSE and Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concepts. In 2026, this line expands to the series production side with the fully electric Corsa GSE. The model is planned to go on sale this year and make its fair premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October. Corsa GSE is positioned as a new version that brings the sporty GSi legacy of the first generation Corsa to the electric era.

Opel uses the GSE name as “Grand Sport Electric”. The new model was also announced as the most powerful mass production Corsa to date. The car has a fully electric engine that offers 207 kW, that is, 281 hp power and 345 Nm torque. This power value is at the same level as the Mokka GSE. Corsa GSE accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h. Opel states that with this acceleration value, the model accelerates faster than any other mass production Opel.

Corsa GSE has three different driving modes. In Sport mode, the car uses its full power and operates with a special track-focused calibration. In normal mode, power drops to 170 kW, i.e. 231 hp; In this mode, the maximum speed of 180 km/h is maintained. In Eco mode, the settings are adjusted for efficiency and the maximum speed is limited to 150 km/h. The new model gets its energy from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 54 kWh.

The usable capacity of the battery was announced as 51 kWh. Opel has revised the battery’s temperature management system according to GSE requirements for long-term and reliable performance in sporty use. Official range information for Corsa GSE has not been shared yet. On the driving side, there is not only an increase in power. Corsa GSE comes with front-wheel drive and uses a Torsen multi-plate limited slip differential.

The car features a lowered sports chassis, special axles, stabilizers, hydraulic shock absorbers, GSE-specific steering adjustment and pedal calibration. On the brake side, four-piston performance brakes work. In design, the Corsa GSE differs from the standard Corsa versions with a more aggressive body. Front and rear bumpers have been reshaped specifically for GSE. Visual air intakes, black coatings on the lower part, black details on the wide fenders, black roof and black rear spoiler complete the exterior of the model.

The car has 18-inch wheels, 215/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and Alcon brake calipers with the GSE logo. Performance seats, Alcantara coverings and integrated headrests are used in the interior. The seats have a checkered pattern consisting of black, gray and yellow colors. Yellow seat belts, Alcantara-covered steering wheel, Alcantara-covered door interiors, armrests with yellow stitching, instrument panel with GSE logo on a silver gray background and aluminum sports pedals constitute the GSE details in the cabin.

There is a customizable digital display screen on the driver’s side and a 10-inch color touch screen in the center. GSE performance data, G force indicator, acceleration values and battery management information are displayed on these screens.
