- AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine, 310 kW (421 hp) and instant response
- Offers dynamic driving thanks to rear-wheel drive and ideal weight distribution
- Details that make a difference in elegant exterior design
Mercedes-AMG has introduced the new AMG GT Coupé portfolio with the AMG GT 43 (combined energy consumption 10.3 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions 235 g/km, CO2 class G).[2] It expands with . The combination of a relatively lightweight four-cylinder engine at the front axle and pure rear-wheel drive makes this new model a master of bends, offering extremely dynamic handling and plenty of driving pleasure.

The AMG 2.0-liter turbo engine produces 310 kW (421 hp) power and 500 Nm maximum torque. What makes it even more special is the electric exhaust gas turbocharger, a technology used in Formula 1™. This charging method guarantees particularly spontaneous responses throughout the entire speed range. The new AMG GT 43 offers a more dynamic driving experience and also provides higher efficiency. The turbocharger is powered via the 48-volt onboard electrical system, which also feeds the belt-driven starter generator. In short, this provides an additional boost of 10 kW (14 hp). The second generation also operates as a mild hybrid on a 48-volt onboard electrical system. In addition to a temporary increase in performance, this also enables functions such as gliding and recuperation for greater efficiency. It also increases journey comfort as the transitions between start-stop and coasting functions are almost imperceptible.
Standing out with its superior performance, the AMG GT 43 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and its top speed is 280 km/h.
Electric exhaust gas turbocharger improves engine response
The AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine in the AMG GT 43 reaches its maximum power of 310 kW (421 hp) at 6,750 rpm. The engine’s 500 Nm maximum torque is offered between 3,250 and 5,000 rpm. Depending on the situation, short-term additional power of 10 kW (14 hp) can be supplied via the belt-driven starter generator (RSG).
The operating principle of the electric exhaust gas turbocharger is based on technology also used by the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. A narrow electric motor of approximately four centimeters is integrated directly into the shaft of the turbocharger, between the turbine wheel on the exhaust side and the compressor wheel on the fresh air side, while this electronically controlled motor directly drives the shaft of the turbocharger. The exhaust gas flow thus accelerates the compressor wheel before it takes over the conventional drive.
This significantly improves response behavior from idling speed and in all speed ranges. The internal combustion engine responds even more spontaneously to accelerator pedal commands and offers a more dynamic driving experience. In addition, the electrification of the turbocharger provides higher torque at low speeds. This increases agility while also optimizing acceleration from scratch. E-turbocharging technology always maintains boost pressure, even when the driver releases the accelerator or presses the brakes.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with wet clutch and rear-wheel drive
In the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission, the torque converter is replaced by a wet clutch. This reduces weight and optimizes the response to accelerator pedal commands, especially during sudden accelerations and load changes, thanks to lower mass inertia. Meticulously tuned software ensures fast downshifts and short shifting times. In addition, the double clutch function in the “Sport” and “Sport” driving programs offers a particularly emotional gear shifting experience. Additionally, the RACE START function is implemented, ensuring optimum acceleration from a standstill.
Six drive programs and AMG DYNAMICS: from comfort to dynamism
The five AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving programs ‘Smooth’, ‘Comfort’, ‘Sport’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Individual’ and the optional ‘RACE’ available in the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package offer many options from comfortable to dynamic driving. The individual driving programs of the AMG GT 43 provide a customized AMG driving experience adapted to the desired conditions. As part of the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving programs, GT models also feature AMG DYNAMICS. This integrated vehicle dynamics control extends the stabilizing functions of ESP® with agile interventions in the steering characteristic curve and additional ESP® functions. For example, when cornering dynamically, a short brake intervention applied to the inside rear wheel creates a yawing moment defined around the vertical axis, providing instant and precise steering control.

The new AMG GT 43 that makes a difference in exterior design
The exterior design of the AMG GT 43 differs from the rest of the AMG family with many details. Particularly striking is the newly designed front bumper with large air intakes around the perimeter of the vehicle. Narrower front and rear fenders give a sleek look. There is also a new trim piece for the front fenders, while the rear features round dual exhaust outlets on the right and left.
Characteristic features of the AMG GT body shape include the long wheelbase, long bonnet, rear seat passenger compartment with steeply sloping windshield and powerful rear end. This reveals the characteristic GT proportions. Together with the wheels that are flush with the exterior cladding, it gives the coupé a strong and dynamic appearance. The AMG GT 43 comes with 20-inch light alloy wheels as standard. Other variants with 20 inch diameter are optionally available. There are also forged wheels measuring 21 inches.

AMG GT equipment range: A distinctive look
In addition to its extensive standard equipment, the AMG GT 43 offers a wide range of customization for different tastes, with many additional options available. There are three exterior design packages to choose from to differentiate the appearance:
- The AMG exterior chrome package includes elegant details in bright chrome on the front bumper, front fenders and side steps.
- In the AMG Night Package, details such as the front wind deflector, the trim strip on the side steps, the exterior mirror coverings and the window trim strips are finished in gloss black. Depending on the colors chosen, it promises a more dynamic and eye-catching appearance.
- The AMG Night Package II, on the other hand, includes black chrome elements, including different radiator trim options, typography and a Mercedes star on the rear.
Interior design with “hyper-analog” cockpit and comfortable seats as standard
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT 43 offers an exciting combination of analogue geometry and the digital world. This design, called “hyper-analog”, consists of a fully digital instrument panel integrated into a three-dimensional viewfinder. The view can be customized with customizable home screen options. Despite its symmetrical design, the cockpit creates a driver-oriented structure.
The center console flows smoothly into the lower part of the instrument panel. The focal point of the functional and visual center is the 11.9-inch multimedia touch screen. The vertical format offers an advantageous and more ergonomic use, especially for navigation. The MBUX infotainment system offers expanded content exclusive to AMG with five different screen styles. Special menu headings such as “AMG Performance” and “AMG TRACK PACE” emphasize the sporty character of the vehicle.
The AMG GT 43 has electrically and manually adjustable AMG sports seats as standard, covered in Nappa leather. The same applies to the optional AMG performance seats with their sculptural design, integrated headrests and increased lateral support. Optional upholstery from the MANUFAKTUR personalization program adds a special touch to the vehicle and is available in three different color options. The new AMG GT 43, offered in seven different color combinations in the MANUFAKTUR interior package, attracts attention on the roads in every aspect.
