Increasing its sales steadily all over the world, Chery Group sold more than 170,000 vehicles in August 2023 and achieved the success of selling more than 150,000 vehicles for 2 consecutive months.

Chery Group achieved new successes by making breakthroughs in three different areas in August 2023. Firstly; Chery Group, which sold 171,262 vehicles last August, an increase of 20.8 percent compared to August 2022, broke the monthly sales record by selling more than 150,000 vehicles for two consecutive months. Secondly; Chery Group, whose cumulative vehicle sales reached 1,063,157 in the January-August 2023 period, showed a 42 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, surpassing the 1 million threshold two months earlier compared to last year. Thirdly, Chery; J.D. Power achieved a significant breakthrough in product quality by ranking first among its own brands for the first time in the First Quality Survey of 2023 in China.

Chery, the main brand within the Chery Group, sold 123,610 vehicles in August 2023, with an annual increase of 15.5 percent, and succeeded in reaching 773,333 vehicle sales with an annual increase of 36.4 percent in the January-August period. When looked at on a model basis; Sales of TIGGO 8, TIGGO 7 and ARRIZO 8 exceeded 10 thousand units in August, becoming the locomotive force of Chery Group’s growth with 21,369, 19,116 and 10,325 units, respectively. Chery models, which rank at the top in terms of quality among compact sedan and compact SUV vehicles, show the reward of the brand’s breakthroughs and also prove that global customers focus on safe and reliable products.

The rise in sales volumes and segment leadership in many markets are supported by the prestigious organization J.D. The 2023 China Initial Quality Survey SM (IQS) ranking published by Power also enabled Chery to rank first in the quality of its new cars among China’s independent brands. At the model level, ARRIZO 5 and TIGGO 4 ranked first in terms of quality among compact sedans and compact SUVs in their market segments. J.D. In the APEAL (China Automotive Performance, Application and Layout Research) research published by Power, TIGGO 7 ranked first in the mid-size economical SUV segment and TIGGO 8 ranked first in the mid-size SUV segment. The first places that more than one of Chery’s models have won in their segments show the strength of the brand.

Investments continue without slowing down

As of 2023, Chery Group continues to steadily increase its sales in non-Chinese markets to new heights. At the beginning of July, Chery announced that it would establish factories in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, respectively. These three factories will be used to produce internal combustion, PHEV and BEV type vehicles to cover different market segments. As the first Chinese automobile manufacturer to export complete vehicles, CKD parts, engines, vehicle manufacturing technology and equipment abroad, Chery’s products are sold in over 80 countries and regions overseas, with total exports to over 1.7 million vehicles and over 12 million users worldwide. Chery Group has 10 production bases and 6 R&D centers, including Brazil and Egypt. With its strong brand image, strong product and perfect service solutions, Chery Group is expected to reach new heights in the third and fourth quarters of 2023 and continue to increase its sales strongly.
