Maranello’s first concept car, “Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo”, designed specifically for the Gran Turismo video game series, was introduced.
Ferrari introduced Vision Gran Turismo, its first concept car created entirely for the virtual world of motorsport. Designed with closed wheels and a single seat, the design of the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is based on Maranello’s unique racing tradition, and the number 75 used in the design reflects this noble heritage. The introduction of the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo also officially ends the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the 125 S, the brand’s first racing car, leaving the factory doors in 1947. This model not only inspires a new generation of passionate drivers in a virtual environment, but also redefines the company’s design language for Ferrari. It represents a futuristic design approach for Ferrari’s road and racing cars and encourages future engineers and drivers (in real and virtual environments).
Inspired by the legendary Ferrari sports prototypes that achieved great success in endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona in the 1960s and 70s, where Ferrari won nine times, the design of Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo was written by Ferrari Centro Stile under the management of Flavio Manzoni. The car, with its extraordinary proportions and futuristic lines, embodies the DNA of masterpieces such as the 330 P3 and 512 S, referencing Ferrari’s racing history and shedding light on the evolution of closed-wheel racing cars.
