Rayİst, a local mobile application that aims to follow the metro, tram, Marmaray and funicular lines in Istanbul on a single platform, focuses on making transportation planning easier for users. The application, which started to be developed in November 2025, aims to provide a more understandable experience on topics such as line status, flight information and route planning, especially during busy hours. The development process of Rayİst is carried out by software developer Erbil Özdemir.
According to the information shared by Özdemir, the application was developed with native languages such as Swift and Kotlin without using a ready-made infrastructure. The platform’s data processing algorithms and artificial intelligence integration were also created specifically for the project. Metro AI Assistant offers route and trip information. One of the prominent features of Rayİst is the Metro AI Assistant. This system helps users inquire about line-based departure times, get route suggestions for their destination, and evaluate transportation options more quickly.
The application; It aims to create the fastest, least transfer or more comfortable routes between the starting and arrival stations. Such features are important for daily transportation planning in a city with multiple lines and busy transfer points like Istanbul. Line status and warnings can be followed instantly. Rayİst offers the opportunity to view the rail system lines in Istanbul on a digital map. In the application, flight cancellations, technical disruptions, stop-based warnings and instant notifications can be transferred to the user.
It is stated that the platform updates the line information with the data provided through Metro Istanbul and IMM Open Data Portal. It is also stated that night metro services, which are implemented on weekends and public holidays, are automatically activated in the system according to the current time table. Interest in independent transportation applications is increasing. With the expansion of the rail system network in Istanbul, the need for users to have quick access to accurate line, transfer and trip information is also increasing.
For this reason, public transportation applications do not only show maps; It is becoming more important to communicate instant disruptions, compare route alternatives and offer suggestions to the user according to the context. The success of Rayİst will be evaluated with the stability of the data flow, accuracy of notifications, performance of the application in intensive use and sustainable integration ability with official sources.
Especially in applications that offer instant transportation information, data up-to-dateness and error-free routing will be decisive in terms of user trust. To install the Rayİst application: App Store | Google Play
