TÜRKSAT AŞ General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay stated that the “Robotic Platform” is a technology that provides a connection via satellite and spreads it to devices with 5G, and said, “Our system is a platform that will enable our military units to communicate in places where they are on the move and there is no possibility of communication.” he said. Atalay gave information to the AA correspondent about the platform developed by TÜRKSAT.
Atalay stated that they exhibited the Robotic Platform within the scope of the SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair, which continues at the Istanbul Expo Center, of which Anadolu Agency is the Global Communication Partner, and said that the system combines TÜRKSAT’s satellite and 5G technologies with robotic mechanisms. Atalay stated that, as TÜRKSAT, they have recently been working to add new elements to traditional services such as satellite broadcasting and internet connection.
Emphasizing that they are working on different technologies that aim to provide uninterrupted and continuous communication in various areas of need by using basic technologies, Atalay stated that one of them is the Robotic Platform. Atalay said, “Our Robotic Platform is a technology that provides connection mainly via satellite and spreads it to devices with 5G. When an earthquake occurs in a place or the entire communication network collapses, we send this platform to places where people cannot enter, providing connection via satellite and expanding the 5G network to a region within a kilometer radius of it.
Thus, mobile phones and terminals using similar technology within that coverage area can continue to communicate via satellite even if other networks fail.” he said. The platform has matured and its tests have been completed. Atalay explained that the platform is a mobile system that can be used for certain periods of time, mainly in disaster areas and places where communication is not possible. Emphasizing that this is also valid for the field of defense, Atalay continued as follows: “In addition, our system is a platform that will enable our military units to communicate in places where they are on the move and where communication is not possible.
Its most important feature is that it is a platform that can be used anywhere that cannot be communicated with other networks, as it connects to the network via satellite and can communicate without any other obstacle.” Atalay stated that the product in question has matured and its tests have been completed to a large extent, and that they are in talks with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Turkish Armed Forces for the platform.
Pointing out that TÜRKSAT is a part of aviation and defense, Atalay said, “There is no war without combat. “We are on the communications side of it.” he said. About the Robotic Platform The developed mobile platform can carry 5G-supported data communication to the field by providing a connection via satellite in areas where terrestrial communication infrastructure is absent, damaged or insufficient. The system is designed for disaster and emergency management, border security, critical facility protection, reconnaissance-surveillance activities and mobile communication needs.
Damage to the communication infrastructure, especially in earthquake, flood, forest fire and similar disaster scenarios, can make field coordination difficult. The satellite-supported robotic communication solution developed by TÜRKSAT can quickly reach the region in such situations and create a safe and uninterrupted communication infrastructure. The platform can provide 5G communication support, real-time image transfer, voice and data communication, mobile hotspot service, and critical field telemetry via satellite connection.
The four-legged robotic platform, which can operate in difficult terrain conditions, offers operational advantages in areas where human access is risky. Thanks to its mobile structure, the system provides instant connection support to security forces, search and rescue teams and field personnel. The solution, which uses satellite and 5G technologies in an integrated manner, offers solutions to critical communication needs, especially in rural areas, thanks to its ability to operate independently of the terrestrial network.
