DJI introduced its new smartphone gimbal model, Osmo Mobile 8P. The new model offers content creators a more comprehensive shooting set with its removable screen Osmo FrameTap controller, ActiveTrack 8.0 tracking system, Apple DockKit support, 3-axis stabilization, internal extension arm and tripod structure. What are the features of DJI Osmo Mobile 8P? The most notable innovation of Osmo Mobile 8P was the removable controller called Osmo FrameTap.

This on-screen remote control, placed on the body of the gimbal, can be detached when necessary and provides remote shooting control. The remote control can reflect the image of the phone or Multifunctional Module 2. Thus, the user can see the frame directly on the remote control, especially when taking selfies or shooting alone with the rear camera. There is a joystick and record button on Osmo FrameTap. This structure allows the user to remotely manage gimbal movements, start recording and control framing.

The controller stands out especially for single-person vlog shooting, product videos, remote fixed camera use and better quality selfie video production with the rear camera. The new gimbal comes with the ActiveTrack 8.0 system. DJI states that in this generation, tracking works more stable in crowded scenes and moving environments. With Multifunctional Module 2, the tracking scope is not limited to humans and pets; Vehicles, objects and certain reference points can also be tracked.

Multifunctional Module 2 is not only used for tracking. The module also includes an adjustable fill light. This light provides additional illumination for vlogging, live broadcasting and low-light shooting with different brightness and color temperature levels. The camera on the module helps the ActiveTrack system to read the scene. Apple DockKit support is also one of the important parts of Osmo Mobile 8P. Compatible iPhone models can use tracking features through native camera applications without having to rely on the DJI Mimo application.

On the Android side, the tracking experience is shaped through the Multifunctional Module 2 and the DJI Mimo application. On the gimbal side, 3-axis stabilization continues. Osmo Mobile 8P is designed to stabilize the phone image during walking, vlogging, product shooting and action scenes. The device also supports 360-degree pan rotation. This feature allows uninterrupted turning and tracking movements without getting stuck in mechanical limits.

The built-in extension arm and tripod maintain the practical structure of previous generations. The user can switch between handheld shooting, desktop static shooting, low angle or wider selfie framing without carrying additional accessories. The DJI Mimo application also includes shooting tools such as DynamicZoom, motion timelapse, wide cinema ratio, low angle tracking and one-touch editing. On the battery side, up to 10 hours of usage time is given for Osmo Mobile 8P.

Phone charging is also supported via USB-C connection. This feature also allows the gimbal to be used as an emergency power supply during long video shoots and live broadcasts. On the technical dimensions side, Osmo Mobile 8P has a dimension of 196 x 105 x 38 mm when folded. The weight of the device is listed as 386 grams. The compatible phone range is given as 170-300 grams of weight, 6.9-11 mm thickness and 67-84 mm width.

On the connection side, there are Bluetooth 5.4 and USB-C. Osmo Mobile 8P is available in three different packages. Standard Combo includes the FrameTap controller. In addition, the Advanced Tracking Combo package includes Multifunctional Module 2. In addition to the Multifunctional Module 2, the Creator Combo comes with audio accessories such as the DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter and mobile receiver. European prices were announced as 145 euros for Standard Combo, 169 euros for Advanced Tracking Combo and 199 euros for Creator Combo.
