ZONGULDAK (AA) – Three times as many saplings as 1803 units of blood donated by the education community in Zonguldak were planted. In cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Turkish Red Crescent, a blood donation campaign was launched with the slogan “The Heart of Education Beats in Blood Donation” in order to strengthen awareness of social solidarity and cooperation throughout the city.
Within the scope of the campaign, 1803 blood donations were made in 41 educational institutions. At the plaque ceremony held at Üzülmez Primary School within the scope of the event, the choir of students sang songs and a poetry recital was presented. – “Blood is a vital need” Provincial Director of National Education Uygar Keskin, in his speech at the program, said that the campaign is an important work that reveals the spirit of solidarity, sharing culture and social responsibility awareness of the education community.
Stating that blood is a vital need, Keskin said, “We all know that thousands of our citizens need regular blood donations in emergency situations. We signed this event with the Turkish Red Crescent for this purpose. With this understanding, we started a great mobilization throughout Zonguldak.” he said. Keskin stated that all schools in the city supported the campaign and continued: “We have reached a total of 1803 units of blood in our 41 central schools, with the guidance and guidance of our teachers, school administrators and even students.
This is the highest number ever reached in Zonguldak. We had 540 new volunteer blood donors in this study. We were very pleased with this. This program also has a different meaning for us. We wanted to carry out a study that brings nature and life together. How each unit of blood “We planted a total of 3 saplings for each unit of blood so that if 3 lives are given hope, every sapling we plant will also provide hope for the future.” Thus, we planted a total of 5,409 saplings in the soil.
Turkish Red Crescent Zonguldak Branch President Kürşat Yağız also invited citizens to donate blood. Emphasizing that blood is not urgent but a constant need, Yağız stated that the education community made a significant contribution to the campaign in this regard. At the end of the event, where plaques were presented to the school principals, 5 thousand 409 saplings were planted in return for 1803 units of blood collected within the scope of the “One Blood Three Saplings” study.
