Forza Horizon 6, produced by Playground Games, had a remarkable commercial performance during its release week. According to Alinea Analytics data, the game reached 4.9 million copies sold on Steam and Xbox after the early access process started on May 15 and its general release on May 19. Gross revenue exceeded 325 million dollars in the first week. Xbox side received a 42 percent share in Forza Horizon 6 sales. Forza Horizon 6 was released for Xbox Series X|S and PC as of May 19, 2026.
The game can be purchased through the Xbox app and Steam; Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can access the Standard Edition as part of their subscription. With Xbox Cloud Gaming support, the game can also be played over the cloud. In the sales data, Steam was ahead with 2.8 million copies. On the Xbox side, approximately 2.1 million copies were sold, including console, PC and cloud access. This figure revealed that 42 percent of total sales came through the Xbox ecosystem.
The revenue distribution of Forza Horizon 6 was shaped differently than the number of sales. The Xbox side accounted for approximately 51 percent of the total gross revenue. The Steam side’s revenue share remained at 49 percent. The report stated that this difference was due to regional pricing. The fact that the Xbox player base is more concentrated in Western markets has increased the revenue per unit. On the Steam side, the share of players coming from markets such as China, Japan and Brazil created a wider distribution.
The early access performance of the game also determined the sales figures. The number of players who preferred the premium early access version or the early access add-on offered for Game Pass was recorded as approximately 1.7 million. This access started on May 15, four days before the general release. A separate user volume was created on the Game Pass side. According to Alinea Analytics data, more than 3 million players accessed Forza Horizon 6 through Game Pass instead of purchasing.
The report included the assessment that adding the game to the Game Pass catalog on the first day limited direct sales on Steam and Xbox. The Japan theme of Forza Horizon 6 also showed itself in the regional distribution on the Steam side. In the report, it was shared that Japan ranked fourth in Steam player share and ranked eighth in the Forza Horizon 5 period. China was listed as the second largest market on the Steam side.
Brazil ranked sixth. In Alinea Analytics’ 2026 new game sales rankings, Forza Horizon 6 ranks fourth with 4.9 million copies. Resident Evil Requiem ranked first on the list with sales of 7.1 million, Slay the Spire 2 ranked second with sales of 6.5 million, and Crimson Desert ranked third with sales of 5.3 million.
