General Directorate of Meteorology Announced: Heavy Rain Will Come in the Afternoon!

While sharing the current weather forecast reports, the General Directorate of Meteorology announced that there will be heavy rain in most of the country this afternoon.

The General Directorate of Meteorology shared the updated weather forecast report dated May 26, 2026 with the public. According to the report, sunny and partly cloudy weather is expected to be effective in the western regions of the country, while thunderstorms will be seen in the eastern regions. According to the data shared by the meteorology, partly cloudy and sunny weather will prevail in the western and inner parts of the country until 12:00 today.

On the other hand, thunderstorms will be seen in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea Region and the northern and eastern provinces of Eastern Anatolia. HEAVY RAIN IN THE EAST Additionally, while the sunny weather continues in the western provinces between 12.00 and 18.00 today, showers are expected to be effective in the eastern provinces. Accordingly, thunderstorms will be effective in the entire Central and Eastern Black Sea Region, most of Eastern Anatolia, and around Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt and Mardin in Southeastern Anatolia, starting from noon.

RAINS ARE LEAVING THE COUNTRY. There will be occasional shifts in rainfall in the eastern parts of the Central Anatolia Region and the inner parts of the Mediterranean Region. The heavy rains that are effective in the eastern regions are expected to lose their effect between 18.00 and 00.00 in the evening. While it is estimated that the weather will be partly cloudy throughout the country at night, it is stated that only light precipitation can be seen in the easternmost parts of the Eastern Anatolia Region.

On the other hand, Meteorology also shared the updated weather forecast report for tomorrow. Accordingly, it was announced that the rains will completely leave the country between 00.00 and 06.00 on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, and clear, calm and cloudless weather will prevail throughout the country.
