Presidency Defense Industry (SSB) President Haluk Görgün stated that countries carry their platforms, ammunition, logistics capabilities and industrial ecosystems to the battlefield together and said, “For this reason, the defense industry has become a strategic power field that directly reflects a nation’s fighting capacity, endurance and continuity.” he said. The “Strategic Business Partnership Summit” organized by ROKETSAN was held in Ankara.
In his speech at the opening of the event, Görgün stated that they consider the concept of strategic business partnership as a holistic structure that covers the relationship between the main contractor and the supplier, including corporate development, technology acquisition and human value. Pointing out that strengthening local and national capabilities is of vital importance for national security, Görgün noted that ROKETSAN’s resilience developed with its supply ecosystem sets an example for the sector.
Görgün stated that today, countries carry their platforms, ammunition, logistics capabilities and industrial ecosystems together to the battlefield and said, “For this reason, the defense industry has become a strategic power field that directly reflects a nation’s fighting capacity, endurance and continuity.” he said. Stating that the battlefield is in a radical change, Görgün underlined that the new generation operational environment is shaped by a multi-domain structure in which land, air, sea, cyber and space dimensions are used integratedly.
Görgün continued his speech as follows: “Space-based capabilities accelerate the decision cycle and strengthen inter-union coordination with the advantages they provide in the fields of communication, reconnaissance-surveillance, positioning and time synchronization. In this context, effective use of space in imaging, early warning, communication fields and the development of GNSS independent national positioning systems are among the strategic priorities.
“The increasing tempo and consumption rate in the field make low-cost, quickly produced and easily replaceable ammunition and platforms among the basic elements of the new battlefield understanding.” “Our companies doing business do not have 1 lira overdue receivables.” Referring to the steps taken to facilitate access to finance for companies in the sector, Haluk Görgün said: “I would like to express here once again that, as SSB, we make all payments, especially to our main contractors, for our signed projects and for each scope within the framework of the signed projects, whose processes have been completed and whose payment terms and times have come, without delay, especially to our main contractors.
Today, if our main contractors have a project that exists within the scope of the Defense Industry Support Fund (SSDF) and whose source can come from there, they have zero overdue receivables from that project as of today. Today, all our main contractors, including ROKETSAN, and all our direct business companies do not have 1 lira of overdue receivables.” Görgün stated that the “National Competence Move” program was managed in order to transform the energy of the young and educated population into innovation capacity.
Pointing out that the defense industry architecture is shaped by real-time feedback from the battlefield, Görgün added that Turkey’s strategic power will continue to be increased with a more careful, disciplined and cost-effective working principle. Source: AA
