The first third-party transparent cases prepared for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, which Apple is expected to introduce in September 2026, have appeared. While the images show that a similar rear design line with the iPhone 17 Pro family will be maintained in the new Pro series, full compatibility with iPhone 17 Pro cases does not seem guaranteed due to the possible thickness difference in the camera bump.
The large camera island is preserved in the iPhone 18 Pro series. The resulting cases seem to be prepared for the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max. The large cutout on the back of the cases reserved for the large camera island attracts attention. This area shows that the camera design that came with the iPhone 17 Pro series and covers the upper part of the device to a large extent continues in the new generation.
The leaked cases are transparent and also contain the MagSafe ring. This reveals that accessory manufacturers expect the iPhone 18 Pro series with a case structure that continues the existing Pro design language. However, although the external appearance is similar, this does not mean that the cases will be directly compatible with the iPhone 17 Pro models. The most important difference on the iPhone 18 Pro side is expected to be in the camera system.
In previous claims, it was stated that Apple would switch to a 48 MP resolution variable aperture main camera in the iPhone 18 Pro series. It is also among the leaks that this camera system comes with a larger sensor, at 1/1.12 inches. Such a hardware change can directly affect the thickness of the camera bump and case compatibility. Therefore, although iPhone 18 Pro cases seem very similar to iPhone 17 Pro cases at first glance, details such as the depth of the camera island, lens perimeter and bump thickness can make a difference between the two generations.
Case manufacturers generally make early production preparations using CAD drawings and supply chain information before Apple’s official launch. Therefore, although the resulting accessories give strong clues about the design, they should not be considered exactly the same as the final product. It is said that the A20 Pro chip will be included in the iPhone 18 Pro series. It is claimed that this chip will be prepared with TSMC’s 2 nm production process and will provide an increase of approximately 15 percent in performance.
A smaller Dynamic Island area, a simpler front face with some sensors placed under the screen, and new Apple Intelligence features with iOS 27 are also expected in the series. A new option is also on the agenda on the color side. In previous leaks, it was suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro family would feature a new color in a dark wine red tone called Dark Cherry. It is claimed that this color will replace the Cosmic Orange option in the iPhone 17 Pro series.
For now, this color information, like other design details, has not been confirmed by Apple. Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models in September 2026. It is said that the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air renewal may be delayed until the spring of 2027. In the same period, claims that Apple has a separate promotional plan for its first foldable iPhone model remain on the agenda.
