ISTANBUL (AA) – Istanbul Governor Davut Gül visited the stands at the “Zero Waste Festival”, which opened its doors to visitors at Atatürk Airport. Governor Gül received information from the authorities in the field of “Zero Waste Festival”, which was implemented in cooperation with the Zero Waste Foundation and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, Chairperson of the United Nations (UN) Zero Waste High-level Personalities Advisory Board and Honorary President of the Zero Waste Foundation.
Governor Gül, who visited the stands established, noted in his statement to the AA correspondent that more than 1500 events were held in 39 districts of the city within the scope of “Istanbul Zero Waste Week” celebrated on June 1-7. Gül said, “There are two more important events this week. One is the Zero Waste Forum, and the other is the Zero Waste Festival we are in. Non-governmental organizations, public institutions and organizations, our citizens, everyone is here.
An environment has been created in Istanbul, in accordance with the 10 Years of Population and Family, where children and young people can spend time with their families and not spend money.” he said. Stating that the festival adds an important experience to children, Gül said, “Our children and young people are very interested. We would like to thank the esteemed First Lady Emine Erdoğan, the esteemed President of our Zero Waste Foundation, Mr.
Samed, and all stakeholders who coordinated these works.” he said. Stating that there are various activities for children at the festival, Gül said: “Children will experience the issues they see in books and hear through hearsay. While playing games, they will also reach zero waste awareness. They will learn not to waste and to use resources efficiently, but they will do this without getting bored. We will have concerts and plays in the evening.
My suggestion to our fellow citizens of Istanbul is to spend these 4 days to the fullest.”
