Arch Linux’s May 2026 ISO image has been released. The new installation media, bearing the version number 2026.05.01, became the first Arch Linux ISO to switch to the Linux 7.0 series. The new image includes the Linux 7.0.3 kernel, updated basic system packages and a renewed installation experience with Archinstall 4.3. Existing Arch Linux users do not need to reinstall the system, they can switch to the same package level with a regular system update.
