NEVŞEHİR (AA) – Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek met with citizens in Mustafapaşa town of Ürgüp district of Nevşehir, where the mayoral election will be held on June 7. Gürlek chatted with the citizens after visiting the tradesmen in the town. Gürlek also visited the election stands of the political parties operating in the town square and met with the people of the town at the program in front of Mustafapaşa Municipality.
Gürlek, who showed great interest from the citizens, was presented with the Ürgüpspor football team jersey and scarf with the number 50, with Akın Gürlek written on the back. Gürlek, in his speech, said that he was in the town not as a minister, but as a fellow citizen raised in the region. Stating that he knows the problems of the region where he was born and raised, Gürlek stated that they continue to solve the problems by discussing them with other ministries.
Stating that he has been happy to host his fellow citizens from Nevşehir in the ministry since he took office, Gürlek said: We personally discussed the problems with our ministers. Our Minister of Culture and Tourism stated that there is a problem with protected areas, especially in the region, and that the problem will be solved in a very short time in Ayvalık District. This was the most important problem, the region’s biggest source of income is tourism.
With God’s permission, this problem will be eliminated. Another problem of our region is natural gas. As AK Party municipalities, you know, we have to do everything we can. There are also officials from our natural gas company here. We took a promise from them. Hopefully, natural gas will come to our homes and workplaces in a very short time. Here’s another good news for you. On the way, I met with our Minister Murat Kurum.
Especially there is a need for TOKİ here. As you know, TOKİ builds modern housing throughout Türkiye, including earthquake zones. Thanks to our Minister, he said, ‘You can give good news to our citizens on my behalf.’ He gave the good news that they will start the project of 150 TOKİ residences in the town. We are also in consultation with other ministries. We have meetings all the time. We especially follow the needs of our Nevşehir and our region closely.
Gürlek stated that one leg of the Culture Road Festival, which will be organized in Cappadocia by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will be held in Mustafapaşa town. Asking for support for Mustafa Özer, the candidate of the People’s Alliance in the election to be held at the weekend, Gürlek stated that the AK Party has demonstrated exemplary work in municipalism for years.
