HP launched the new HyperX OMEN 15 model. The gaming computer placed in a 15.3-inch case comes with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen processor options, 70 Wh battery, 2.5K IPS and 3K OLED screen alternatives. Current configurations of the device are listed with Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, Intel Core Ultra 9 386H and AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX processor options. While the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H model has 16 cores and 16 threads, the Core Ultra 9 386H also comes with 16 cores and 16 threads. The AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX option has 8 cores, 16 threads and a maximum boost frequency of up to 5.1 GHz. On the graphics side, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU is used in all HyperX OMEN 15 models with RTX 5070.
HP’s product pages provide 8 GB GDDR7 memory information for this GPU. Intel models have Intel Graphics as the integrated graphics unit, and AMD models have AMD Radeon 610M Graphics. There are two different configurations on the screen side. Core Ultra 7 and Ryzen 7 models use a 15.3-inch 2.5K resolution IPS panel. This screen comes with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, up to 180 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms response time, 500 nits brightness, 100% sRGB color coverage, anti-reflective coating, micro-edge design and Low Blue Light support.
The Core Ultra 9 model has a 3K OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. In the OLED option, the refresh rate is up to 120 Hz, the response time is given as 0.2 ms, and the screen offers 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, SDR 500 nits and HDR 1100 nits brightness support. There are different options on the memory and storage side depending on the configuration. The Intel Core Ultra 7 model is listed with 16 GB DDR5-5600 MT/s RAM and 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD.
AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX model has 16 GB DDR5-5200 MT/s RAM and 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 9 386H version includes 32 GB DDR5-5600 MT/s RAM and 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD. The device has two M.2 SSD slots. Connection options include MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7925 wireless network card and Bluetooth 6.0. There is integrated 10/100/1000 GbE LAN support for wired connection. External ports include two 10 Gbps USB Type-A, one USB Type-C 10 Gbps, HDMI 2.1 output, headphone/microphone combo connection, RJ-45 Ethernet input and AC smart pin power input.
The USB Type-C connection comes with USB Power Delivery 3.1, DisplayPort 1.4 and HP Sleep and Charge support. On the battery side, a 4-cell 70 Wh Li-ion polymer battery is used. According to HP’s specifications, the device can reach 50 percent in approximately 30 minutes with fast charging support. A 200 W adapter is listed in the Intel Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9 models, and a 280 W adapter is listed in the AMD Ryzen 7 model.
The case dimensions of the HyperX OMEN 15 are given as 13.5 x 9.96 x 0.89 inches on the front and 13.5 x 9.96 x 0.93 inches on the rear in Intel models. On the AMD model, the measurement is listed as 13.5 x 9.96 x 0.93 inches. The starting weight of the AMD version is stated as 5.34 lb. According to Digital Trends, the new model is considered as an option positioned between thin gaming laptops and larger performance models.
On the keyboard side, a full-size, numeric keypad and 4-zone RGB illuminated structure is used. The keyboard features 26-Key Rollover Anti-Ghosting technology. HP also shares information about the HyperAction 8000 Hz polling rate keyboard on its product family page. On the audio side, it includes DTS:X Ultra, dual speakers, HP Audio Boost and HyperX audio features. On the camera side, Intel models have a 1080p FHD IR camera, and AMD models have a 1080p FHD camera.
HDR auto switch, temporal noise reduction and dual digital microphone array support are provided on both sides. HP offers HyperX OMEN 15 with Windows 11 Home. Intel Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9 configurations are listed with the Copilot PC label. Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9 models feature Intel AI Boost NPU, and HP’s specifications include 50 NPU TOPS information. On the software side, OMEN Gaming Hub, OMEN AI and Unleashed Mode features are also stated on the device page.
According to the sales information provided by Notebookcheck, orders of HyperX OMEN 15 with Core Ultra 7 356H and Ryzen 7 8745HX processors are expected to start shipping on July 3. In the Core Ultra 9 386H version, the stock calendar was shared as between May 27 and June 1.
