Sandisk introduced new memory cards for professional content creators at the NAB event. The new SANDISK Extreme PRO CFexpress 4.0 Type B card comes with read speeds of up to 3700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3500 MB/s. The company also updated its SANDISK Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V90 and V60 cards with capacity options up to 2 TB and increased speed values. Sandisk introduced its new cards for professional production processes.
As 6K, 8K and high bit rate shooting become more common on the video production side, the need for storage is also changing. Content producers now need not only high-capacity cards, but also solutions that maintain performance during shooting, reduce the risk of interruptions during long recording sessions, and provide a safer working space in the set environment. The new professional card family that Sandisk showed at the NAB event was also shaped in line with these needs.
At the top of the new series is the SANDISK Extreme PRO CFexpress 4.0 Type B card. Sandisk’s new CFexpress card is built to deliver sustained performance for high bitrate video recording. The card reaches read speeds of up to 3700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3500 MB/s. These speed values open up a significant space, especially for professional cameras working with high-resolution video files. SANDISK Extreme PRO CFexpress 4.0 Type B card comes with a capacity option of up to 4 TB.
This capacity reduces the need to swap cards for longer recording sessions and larger raw video files. According to the information provided by Sandisk, the card supports high-speed shooting up to 12K resolution. This structure is positioned directly for cinema cameras, professional video equipment and production environments requiring high data flow. Another product group renewed by Sandisk is SANDISK Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V90 cards.
Designed for high-end productions at the professional level, these cards come with capacity options up to 2 TB. The V90 series is developed for 8K video recording and continuous high-speed shooting. A single 2 TB card can store more than 1,118 minutes of 8K video at 30 fps. New SANDISK Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V90 cards offer read speeds of up to 310 MB/s and write speeds of up to 305 MB/s. This model is listed with capacity options ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB.
The V90 class structure is at the top of the professional SD card category, offering stable performance in video recordings that require high write speeds. SANDISK Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V60 series is also among the updated products. V60 cards, which come with capacity options up to 2 TB, are designed for professional users shooting 6K videos, photographers producing high-resolution photos, and teams that need more storage space on long shooting days.
The new V60 series offers reading speeds of up to 300 MB/s and writing speeds of up to 250 MB/s. These speed values provide a faster workflow for both transferring large photo files and high-resolution video recordings. The series comes with capacity options ranging from 256 GB to 2 TB. The striking common point in Sandisk’s new card family is the increase in capacity and sustainable performance. The CFexpress 4.0 Type B model appeals to systems that need the highest data flow, with support for shooting up to 12K and a capacity of up to 4 TB.
The V90 series focuses on the 8K video and rapid burst shooting side. The V60 series, on the other hand, appeals to a wider user area for 6K video, high-resolution photos and long-term shooting. The new products directly address the main problem on the storage side in professional productions. As camera systems move to higher resolutions and higher bit rates, it’s not enough for cards to just be fast. Capacity, sustained write performance and the reduced need to change cards during shooting are also becoming important parts of the production process.
Sandisk’s new CFexpress 4.0 Type B, V90 and V60 cards offer updated options in these three titles.
