Porsche has made comprehensive changes in many different points such as powertrain, design and equipment in the renewed Cayenne. Thus, it has taken not only road and land performance, but also luxury and daily comfort to further levels.

Porsche has completely updated its successful luxury SUV with one of the most comprehensive improvements in the brand’s history. The new Cayenne debuts with its new digitalized interior design, new chassis technology and innovative high-tech features. High-resolution HD Matrix LED Headlights that provide road lighting that can be adapted to every driving condition, the air quality system that cleans and filters the air in the interior, and the information display for the front passenger, which is offered for the first time in the Cayenne, are among the innovations added. With its comprehensively updated design and more powerful engine range, Cayenne continues to claim to be the sportiest SUV in its class.

Digitized and driver-focused: The Porsche Driver Experience

Porsche integrates a completely redesigned interior concept into the New Cayenne model. The new Porsche Driver Experience system, introduced for the first time in the Porsche Taycan, allows optimizing operations by focusing on the driver. The functions the driver frequently uses are located directly on the steering wheel or right next to it. For example, the lever located on the back left of the steering wheel has additional functions for using driver assistance systems. In the new Cayenne, the automatic gear selector lever is positioned to the right of the instrument panel, thus creating space on the center console for storage compartments and a large climate control with a stylish black panel design. Large, easily accessible controls, mechanical air conditioning buttons and a touch-sensitive volume controller ensure optimum usability and a sophisticated appearance. Another importance of the New Porsche Driver Experience is that it provides a natural balance between digital and analog elements.

Cayenne’s redesigned cockpit includes a fully digital 12.6-inch instrument panel for the first time. The display screen, which has a curved design, also has optional changeable themes. The central Porsche Communication Management (PCM) screen, which is 12.3 inches wide as standard, integrates harmoniously into the new instrument panel and allows easy access to all vehicle-related information. For the front passenger, an optional 10.9-inch wide screen is offered for the first time. Through this screen, the passenger can access vehicle-related performance data and entertainment system controls. It also enriches the travel experience with the option to stream video content. Applications such as Spotify® and Apple Music® are also offered in the new Cayenne to ensure the best use of connectivity.

Increased gap between driving comfort and performance

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system is now standard on the Cayenne. New shock absorbers with two-valve technology provide optimized performance in all driving conditions. The new suspension system has visibly improved comfort, especially at low speeds, and during cornering during dynamic driving. The driving experience can be further enhanced with the new adaptive air suspension with 2-chamber, 2-valve technology. This improves the driving experience with a softer suspension characteristic compared to both the standard suspension and the previous model. It facilitates the vehicle’s road and off-road use. At the same time, the adaptive air suspension increases driving precision and performance and reduces body roll in dynamic driving situations. The new suspension also offers even sharper differentiation between Normal, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.

Hybrid model with more power and a 100 percent electric range of up to 90 kilometers

The new Cayenne is available in Europe with three different engine options. The comprehensively improved 4.0 liter V8 biturbo engine developed by Porsche replaces the V6 engine in the new Cayenne S. With 474 PS (349 KW) maximum power and 600 Nm torque, it has 34 PS (25 kW) and 50 Nm more power than the old version. Both Cayenne S and Cayenne S Coupé accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the vehicle is 273 km/h. The entry-level Cayenne has an improved 3.0 liter V6 turbo engine. Producing 13 PS (10 kW) and 50 Nm more power than before, the engine now produces 353 PS (260 kW) and 500 Nm.

The six-cylinder engine also forms the basis of the Cayenne E-Hybrid’s powertrain. With the new electric motor improving by 30 kW to 130 kW (176 PS), the total power increases by 470 PS (346 kW) to 346 kW. An all-electric range of up to 90 kilometers is now possible according to WLTP, as it is equipped with a high-voltage battery whose capacity has been increased from 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh depending on the trim level. The new 11 kW onboard charger reduces charging time to less than two and a half hours on a suitable power source, despite the increased battery capacity. During the journey, optimized e-hybrid driving modes increase the vehicle’s efficiency.
