ESKİŞEHİR (AA) – The funeral of retired police officer Halil Nural Destici, older brother of Grand Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici, who passed away at the age of 64 as a result of his illness in Eskişehir, was buried. Destici’s body was taken from Eskişehir City Hospital, where he died, and brought to the rural Gecek District of Günyüzü district. BBP Chairman Destici and his relatives accepted condolences at the neighborhood mosque.
Destici’s mother, Özgül Fahriye Destici, shed tears with her children at her coffin wrapped in the Turkish flag before the prayer. Speaking before the funeral prayer, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici thanked everyone who attended the funeral and expressed their condolences. Stating that his brother, who passed away, was the eldest of their family after their father, Destici said: We lost the eldest of our family. May God rest his place in heaven.
He lived his life honestly and cleanly. He was very selfless in doing good to people. He was very merciful. If someone really needed help, he would do everything he could. This crowd is a result of this struggle, hospitality, sacrifice, appreciation and magnanimity that he put into his 64 years of life. May God have mercy on him. Stating that his brother had a long period of struggling with the disease, Destici thanked the healthcare professionals who helped him during his treatment.
Halil Nural Destici’s funeral was buried in Gecek Mahallesi Cemetery after the prayer performed after receiving halal blessings from Provincial Mufti Muharrem Gül.
