ANTALYA (AA) – SÜLEYMAN ELÇİN – Archery National Teams Coach Yusuf Göktuğ Ergin said, “As our athletes develop, their careers also develop. They grow by winning medals.” he said. Ergin pointed out to the AA reporter that they received 3 gold and 3 silver medals in the 2026 Open Air European Archery Championship held in Antalya, hosted by Turkey. Stating that he was generally satisfied with the performance of his athletes in the European Championship, Ergin stated that they finished first in the team rankings in this organization, as in the previous European Championship.
Expressing that he is happy that Turkish archery has made their success sustainable and maintained the superiority they have established in Europe, Ergin said, “It was a championship in which we achieved some of our goals and learned lessons for some of them. We could have increased our number of medals higher. We lost some medals due to very minor details.” he said. – “He has many years left” Ergin stated that Turkey has a very young national team.
“”As our athletes develop, their careers also develop. “They grow up by winning medals.” Ergin said and continued: “Elif Berra is 19 years old. Dunya Yenihayat is 17 years old. Many of our players are under 23 and have many years ahead of them. We have young talents who we are sure will bring greater success to our country in the future. “We are very hopeful for the future of Turkish archery.” Explaining that they will increase their medal success in the Los Angeles Olympics, Ergin stated that they will reap the best fruits of their latest strategies and achieve great success in the Olympics in Brisban, Australia in 2032.
