The Anadolu Agency (AA) team accompanied the Turkish soldiers who served at the 7th Main Jet Base Command of the Air Forces Command on Eid al-Adha. – The security of the runways is entrusted to the Turkish soldiers. Privates on duty at the base carry out Foreign Object Damage (YAMAHA) cleaning on the runways on a 24/7 basis in order to continue the air operation safely. During the checks carried out on the runways and taxiways, even the smallest materials that could jeopardize flight safety are meticulously collected.
Soldiers walk along the track at regular intervals and check for metal pieces, stones, plastic and similar foreign objects. As part of the work carried out in areas where warplanes take off and land, detailed scanning is carried out to remove elements that could damage the engines. Soldiers perform comprehensive inspections on the runways, especially before and after heavy flight traffic, and also serve at guard posts within the base, in addition to their runway duties.
Soldiers waiting at security points continue their duties without interruption during the holiday.
